I'd keep the tons. What parts are you needing to source. I can help you find what you need easy and I have a bunch of fasteners, etc. from my axle since I replaced everything :D

Everything except the house and diff cover, bolts included. I just don't have the time to source all the parts. Plus after looking at what I'd spend buying them I'd be better off just buying a complete 60. I know I'll be giving up a little strength but since I only plan for 37s I'd rather have the extra ground clearance and less weight. Ill eventually build a one ton rig but not right now. Maybe the Tacoma will get tons down the road.

Because you are using fj axles. Do you plan on staying with radius arms or linking ?

Neither cause I'm a cheap ass. I've already got my rig set up with leafs and it'll stay that way for a while. In hind sight I should have link it, but don't feel like doing it now. The suspension is pretty much done just needs shocks and bumps.

There is nothing wrong with leafs.. i ran them for my 94 sas and got 13" of flex out of each side at the spring.. Though links alow for more control of the axle esp. when running bigger tires. so no death wobble.

Not saying there was I like them for the simplicity over setting up a home brew link setup. It should flex rather well I think just from flexing it with the jack. The rear has some panty dropping flex, the front not near that level though.

No worries. Leafs are effective. I was just hoping to see someone do a radius arm setup fr the beginning. Just see the numbers.

I had thought about it for my Tacoma Just due to the system is already designed and I know it works great for a dd/wheeler setup. Only bad thing is the FJ80 radius arm setup leaves alot to be desired, but it'd be stupid easy to set up.

That is the draw it seems to be a great DD setup. I was considering it for my 06. But now I am hunting around for a 2000-2001 Dbl cab trd. House and baby take priority right now. I think the first gen that I find will end up getting the treatment at some stage.
Sounds like you have a pretty good setup going.

Hey rctoy, when you did your leafs on the 94, How much up travel were you getting as opposed to downtravel? just wondering

i had the allpro 5" leafs and 6" shackels they gave my heavy ass caged truck 5.5" up and the rest down. was perfect but for some odd ass reason the right spring would sag out after like 8 months.

Fixed the rear panhard bracket, it was coming in contact with the rear drivers side coilover.. finally got to fully flex it.

FJ80 front don't flex for shit, all the land cruiser guys try but it's about worthless for flex.

Those axles can be built pretty damn stout. The birfs are a lot larger than mini truck axles. Chromos and some knuckles and you'll only ever break 3rds lol.

So would that be an appropriate leaf/ shackle set up for 42s and deliver a lot of articulation? Or since I want a cage as well would I I need something a bit stiffer to hold the extra weight
The allpro 5" springs all around and some 6" shackles.

when i ran the Allpro 5" springs and a 2" body lift on my 94 extended cab i still rubbed 37's so no it's not.

The Allpro link kit is set up to clear 37's but if you wanna run the big boy shit you better start looking into building your own set up and as far as the axle has to go forward to clear big tires at full stuff you will have to let go of your easy leaf idea and switch over to links my friend..
