    I agree with this guy right there^^^^^ esp. if it's a project truck.. DD that you need the bed space in would be a different story..

    I think ORI's would be ok for a go-fast rig IF and only IF they are tuned correctly for the vehicle they are on. They do so much and many people don't know a lot about them at this point when it comes to tuning. The instructions say to charge the lower chamber and charge the lower chamber to a pressure for your ride height, very basic! They are setup to run 50% up 50% down but that can be modified by changing oil heights. Don't forget the dampening screw or the small remote reservoir that will change the ride quality as well. I think they are filled with ethelyne glycol which is, for the lack of a better term, antifreeze or engine coolant. I don't think I've read anything about anyone overheating them probably because damn near no one runs them in Ultra 4. For being a shock that can be totally tuned while on a vehicle, they are awesome but they will never replace a tried and true coilover shock. Great for a trail rig but not race rig.

    Say you are running 14" coilovers, usually that's 10 down and 4 up, you don't want all or nearly all of your uptravel to be on the bump. Its a quite common modification that is easily reversible. You simply add a spacer internal to the bump., 1.5" OD 0.120" wall works perfect.


    I have spacers to limit mine to 2", and 1.25". I had them limited to 1.25" travel when I had them on my LT IFS, same reason, you don't want a bumpstop always in "play", its for bump, the final bit of travel.

    Yup. If you're always on the bump stop, you have a false sense of how well tuned your coilovers are. How often do you see rubber bump stops that can compress 4"? 2-3" is typical and sometimes even less than 2" if you want to lose all the fillings in your mouth.

    Gotcha yeah i wasnt thinking of it being that much of a droop suspention.. i was thinking more like 8" down and 6" up. then again im going to run a 18" coil over.. so ill be like 12" down and 6" up..

    Just the norm skids, sliders, & 35's
    Packaging a 18" coilover would be insane. Really unneeded imo. You'd be fine with 14 or even 12.

    the SAW 18" 2.5 compresses measures the same as the fox 16" compressed. im going to run a 42" tire and a tall frame height might as wall go big or go home..

    i also destroyed one of those in my toy 8.4 diff only there were more locker locker damage and less carier damage..
