    I had said i was mistaken and thought your build was a different one. I will say this im getting 15mpgs in town on these 40's, haven't had the need to take it on the freeway yet and it would seem silly to take it when my dodge pulls 25mpgs. i do plan on running a 42-44 later when i get a few more things figured out. i had to go look at your build page to remember who i was comparing to but yeah you got me your shit is way more functional for all around stuff im playing with this build hence the change to 4 link with out even having wheeled it yet. though im not going to lie i love it so far.

    Is your speedo dead on? I would think not for having huge tires and stock-ish axle gears. My speedo is spot on with 5.38 gears and a true 39.5" tire.

    im on worn 40's and the rear diff is geared to 5.38 so id say it's damn close.

    Does any one know of a chromoly shaft for the toyota 8.4? Come tax return time I'll be on a mini truck axle with chromoly shafts and the stock 8.4 on leaf springs and 37s

    allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
    Nitro makes some chromo rear shafts I think.

    this is just my personal opinion but I wheel'd 37's on toy axles for years took out 11 diffs and one axle I wouldn't even bother an axle is cheap compared to a diff. question is where do you want your weak link cuz we all have them.

    what I was saying from my experience and many others around me is rear toy axles are tough and if you don't want bigger then 37's I wouldn't worry about shafts. I broke a lot of the 8" diffs. Though the 8.4 is way stronger. so I would say as long as you don't drive like big food it's a very strong set up by far better than a danna 44 don't waste money on cromo shafts unless your wheeling style kills them but odds are the diff is still weaker than the shafts.

    Yeah the fronts are weaker due to the birfield joint. Chromo's for the front for sure. Go with RCV's, not Trail Fail

    X2 I ran the alloy brand and had good luck with them but RCV has stepped it up a notch and offers a better product with the same warranty.

    Fwiw I'm running the TG 30 splines on 37's and haven't had any issues yet. We'll see if they hold up since I'm getting progressively harder on my truck and would like to step up to 38's or 39.5's. I bought them at 15% off so I saved $200 over RVC's and still have a lifetime warranty plus TG threw in chromo inner and outer hub gears and a set if drive flanges for free.

    that does sound like a good deal but the older trucks are lighter with less power add weight and add power and you need stronger parts.

    So I've heard. My tired little 22r is still kicking so I'm good for now. Whenever it goes I'd like to do a 3rz or 5vz swap, nothing too crazy or powerful.

    I have a 5vze computer/ wirring harness and a motor that need an over haul. have the Mt trany that came with it too. all came out of a t100

    Just the norm skids, sliders, & 35's
    I'd go 3rz. That should actually fit under the hood. Plus all you'd have to change as far as fitment are the motor mounts and exhaust. Bell housings are the same.

    Look at Rocky. He destroyed 2 ring and pinion sets in Moab running his 38's on Toy axles. They were both the rear interestingly enough. On the front he broke both hubs which is probably what saved the ring and pinion.
