i beat on my second gen quite badly trying to keep up with the big boys and their sas here.
Im locked on both ends and run some heavy ass 35s and ( knock on wood ) haven't snapped anything yet. Its all about knowing the limitations of the setup, and avoiding them as much as you can. However, SAS is king unless your wanting to go a million mph jumping sh!T, thought i have seen a few sas'd trucks pull it off.

I have sat in a few guys trucks with S.a's and their so calm, not stressed out, just focused on driving. Sit with an Ifs, guys clutching his butt cheeks

Here's my current plan, I can get a fj80 axle for a steal. And I do plan on getting a dd car. So my plan is to 3 link the front on the fj80 axle, leave the 8.4 rear with leaf springs and run 37s.

What are your opinions on this set up along?
Also thinking about doing the 4wu stage 1 3 link kit up front, any opinions on this?

Ease is sorta what I'm aiming for, links as easy as I can. I've never really done anything like it so I'll be learning as I do it. Have you looked at the 4wu kit? Looks like it comes with nearly everything but I'm not sure?

I haven't but no matter what kit you get there is always extra stuff you'll want to add. most kits come with enough stuff to get the axle under the truck truck they rarely come with coil overs.

4wu kit has coil overs, bump stops, all the brackets, gussets, and links for about $2500

Ok thanks! How complete would you say that kit is as far as the front suspension goes?

Depending what stage you buy... Pretty much everything. I'd suggest you get the brackets and coil overs from them and buy the link material from ruffstuff specialties.

I was thinking just a stage 1, only difference I saw between one and two is going from a poly bump to a air bump. And I don't think a air bump is completely necessary at this point and if it ever is it's one of those things that you can just swap out.

Does the stage 1 not come with all the link material? Looked like they were pre-made in all the pics?

Also I would probably get shock towers from bamf. This will all be happening in this coming summer or fall. But I would like to get everything straight and a pretty accurate list so I can go ahead and start buying parts

Yea those shock towers they make are pricey... And stage 1 looks good - all you'd basically need is shock towers.

You'll need frame plating. You may want to invest into hellfire knuckles.. they are pricey but so worth it. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/axles-tires-wheels/997804-fj80-high-steer-way-you-need.html

Otherwise it looks pretty good. I mean you got the obvious stuff and there will always be stupid shit like welding gas, grinding discs...etc.
