I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
That kit is for the older passenger side drop cases. Not sure if it will work on a TACOMA case. I have never seen a 1st Gen case with triple sticks I looked into it when i did my swap and couldn't find any info on it.

Also if you get a J shifter let me know I'll take your current case off your hands.

have you looked into what the differences are between the push button and the Jshift case??

I looked as my space taco Jshift case and my old gear drive j shift and I don't see a difference in the mounting of the shifter.

While we're on the topic of tcases... when I USED to have a truck, I could shift in to 4wd on the fly. A couple months before I hacked it up, I started having issues where I couldn't move the shifter into 4wd unless the truck came to a stop, and then it was fine. Any ideas as to the culprit? ADD electric/vac issue? Worn/damaged synchronizer ring?

I'm guessing the latter. I don't see why the ADD would stop the shifter from moving. It's just some wiring between the ADD and the Tcase.

I had some random problems with my t-case before the swap... Now it's simple... Pull the handle down and you're instantly in 4wd (if hubs are locked of course). Love it! Not a single problem (except that time my ds fell out and broke the output shaft :anonymous:)

I was looking at an atlas for down the road. Don't really want dump money into a dual case setup just to break tcase inputs if I get stupid with it.

yeah I looked at the same thing to get the full Gear drive Tcase set up with cromo everything that I can im looking at just over 3K might as well spend the extra 2K and get the 4 speed atlas that can do front wheel drive only low range and have one ton drive lines. The idea there is to make my rear axles and my hubs the weak points but we'll see.

I've seen one of my buddy's use grade 5 driveshaft bolts at the pinion flange to act as a fuse. Works fairly well and can keep you from getting to stupid with it.

yeah I had that thought but the odds of breaking a rear shaft aren't too high. not sure about the front right now

Don't shoot me but how feesable does this sound, sawping an entire fj80 front into the tacoma? Radius arms, coils, axle, whole nine yards? See any issues running this set up?

Edit: may run coil overs with the radius arms on the 80 axle

There's a 4Runner build on pirate I think Dylan that he uses the FJ80 radius arm.

It's not actually a bad little setup for a low reliable sas rig. I've seen a couple that had everything work really well within the boundaries of radius arms. It'll never be a ramp champ but it will drive nice and let you ditch the stock weak cv's. You have to go to a gear drive case setup though to get passenger drop, not a bad idea anyway considering the cost and gearing options that become available.

Just 3 link it... You can make it just as low as a stupid radius arm... And it'll flex way better and handle better if you set it up right.
