Fitting 2.5" smooth bodies in this space is going to be a trick.

With all those braces you should be fine to notch...do a sideways C-notch....and you won't need a lot of gusseting

I didnt see that. Hell yea its a great motor, and with a few easy mods they will run at damn near any angle. Hell we had a mini truck on it's side with the 22r still running for a few minutes... I'm still trying to figure out how to swap one in my 44 jeep willys.

Man gear head if i had 4500 bucks i would buy that thing in a second!! Not to mention trying to sell my wife on yet another toy would suck, my taco is essentially worthless besides a part out and scrapping it, so i would be stuck with the taco....

How ever 4500 is still a lot cheaper than even my "budget" SAS that i am working on....

Gear heads truck is a steal compared to what people want for the same truck out here. If I had a way that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to get it out here I would.

Im getting ready to swap my rear axle for an 80 axle, whats the rule of thumb for accounting for axle wrap when setting the pinion angle? Example leave it 2* low to account for wrap?

im no expert but I say point it where you want it and buy a track bar it hells more than just axle wrap.

Ha yeah I feel like it's a very fair price for what it is. I keep getting the shit low balled out of me too. People offering $3k and I tell them to take a hike. Even though I kept some things it's still very fair. You'd be hard pressed to find one that gets wheeled and is still in this good of shape. I'm really about done dealing with bs and have thought about just keeping it, dropping back to 35's and have a sweet little weekend warrior and leave the big stuff to the Tacoma.

I don't have enough axle wrap to necessitate a traction bar right now, and hill climbing is not a problem for me. I'm talking about accounting for the axle wrap inherent in a leaf sprung suspension, not fabbing shit i don't need.

if you have 2 inches of axle wrap inherent in a leaf spring you have a need to fix it because that is not okay.

Where are you pulling 2"s of? If i infact did have that, then yes i would be addressing it, however i have minimal axle wrap with my current setup.

Back to the original question, how much lower should i set the pinon in degrees to account for axle wrap that is inherent in evrey leaf sprung truck? Is there a general rule of thumb on this?

Just look at the build thread
Why are you so against a trac bar?
