I've measured 100 different times from every point I can think of and the leafs are perfectly square here. I knew the rebuilt section of the frame was crooked before so the question is... Weld it here where it's square or center it with the rear frame and weld it up. It didn't crab walk before but I'm afraid that shortening the frame might have exaggerated the crookedness. I will post a pic in a sec

Make it so the leafs are straight so the truck drives straight. Who cares about the frame lol

Just edited a pic in the previous post. And the reason I'm questioning it now is because it drove straight before. I never noticed it crab walking and nobody I wheeled with mentioned it either.

Only thing I've got is to fix the frame and make it straight, you already got it torn apart, but really I'm not sure if it even matters. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Yeah fuck that, there's no "fixing" it. It would be a cut it completely off and start over thing and I'm not doing that. Going to make things interesting when I start bending tube though. I tacked it all in where it is in the pic above. Going to order perches and sit it down on the axle so I can have something to pull measurements too from the front and make sure it's square with the front axle. I guess this is one of the downsides of building off of someone else's work..

It's a trailerd truck, just make sure its square and aligned with the front end and weld it up. Flop it to the drivers side and it will straighten itself out lol!!

Haha yeah that could work lol. I know it's a trailered rig but I still really like driving it around town and the occasional highway trip so I just want to make sure I'm not shooting myself in the foot.

Tac weld a straight edge (1.5" angle iron 12' or so long) to the furthest forward ubstucted point on frame both sides and have it go backwards...if the frame is straight up front you will be good...
Also if its symmetrical at the ends of the straight edge that sticks back then mark center on cab as reference point...
You can keep them there while using stands to hold center section centered while you weld up...when done behind tacs remove straight edge..

    Just a thought.

Dana 60 front, 14 bolt rear. Unless you plan on running tires a lot bigger than 40's.

Yeah I was going to do the same thing but with string but honestly I think I'm good. The inboarded spring hangers are on the factory frame which is straight and I squared everything up off that. My perches will be here tomorrow so I'll get those on and set the truck down on the axle so I can see if it's squared up with the front axle and go from there.

There are plenty of axles you can use, but the most common will be a Dana 60 from a ford and a 14 bolt which is gm. They are most commonly used and strong as hell.

Tried to get away with not pulling my radiator when welding up the steering box brace.... Well now I need a new radiator. One rogue BB shot off and hit one of the fins and caused a pinhole leak.

Don't be lazy like me and just pull the damn radiator LOL
