Yeah the rear shackles definitely change a few things. Got the bible bookmarked and read a few times over...just making sure I wasn't missing a factor that needs to be accounted for.

As far as knuckles go......yup they've already been cut and turned just not burned into their permanent spot yet. 6* seems to be the magic number in most references.

Couldn't imagine doing anything over 35-40 mph max in the snow on road, but will be on road so shooting for a tighter tolerance range.

    Thank guys.

Nate was dealing with the same problem haha. I really think anything more than a single diagonal tube running down from the cab is unnecessary. The extra tubing won't help with strength where it's needed and adds more weight, increasing the COG. From an aesthetic standpoint it would be too much, and begin to take on the 'jungle gym effect'. Or look like Eric's ( :luvya: ) unsightly rear end.

I really like what bullcrew did with his as well.

I'm running a single diagonal tube down from the cab and most of my bracing is at the bed and frame.

Decisions, decisions.... This is what I was looking at. Honestly the sole purpose of the extra tubes in my case was simply to help that cab tube "flow" into the rear. You bring up a good point with the weight though, I'm already tall and tippy with the inboarded springs

Yeah it's just too much, IMO. It begins to lose the pickup truck appearance. A single diagonal tube will suffice in 'flow'. And flow from an aesthetic standpoint coincides with the structural standpoint, in that it should flow from one to another without dead tube. Which the above has a lot of. If you took off the cab of my truck, you can draw a line or whatever, from the stinger, through the engine cage and cab, all the way to the tire carrier with no dead tube. It all helps with strength, shock absorption/distribution, and flow.

Another thing to mention, is that the extra tubing makes it a PITA to work around when maintaining the vehicle or getting stuff in and out of the bed area. Those side tubes are literally right in the way.

Gotcha. I plan on tying the front bumper back into the a pillar but that's the best I'll be able to do.

I did my last official ifs run over the weekend and tried to break the ifs... I ended up blowing another rear u joint and twisted my driveshaft a bit. I ended up having to drive home in fwd since the vibes were so bad on the street. Ohh the irony, the trip that I took to kill the IFS, I ended up needing it to get home.

I think I have an axle wrap problem in double low, I also think I bent a rear spring since the pinion is now pointing too high. The fj80 axle is also making things worse with the offset diff. I have a traction bar from a jeep I used to own that in going to make work on the taco this winter when I swap it.

I have been on the fence about that. I don't know if i want to build another case, as i finally have my duals dialed in, or just flip the fj 60 axle. Its almost a wash when it comes to time, probibly a day to do either one. The other issue is marlin seems to ALWAYS be out of crawler stuff now, which would be annoying if that delayed the build.

Why, are you interested? Its technically for sale for the right price. I have some house projects i need to finish that i need the truck for, after that (Octoberish??? depending if i have the parts i need) shes going to get chopped and the case will get pulled if i have a buyer.

Can you buy just a new coupler for a dual case adapter by itself? I'm wanting to swap to 23 spline in the rear case but can't find just a 23 spline coupler without buying a new adapter. I have the TG adapter

I don't know how fail gear does things, but I have bought just a coupler from marlin. I had to call them to order it.

Just call TG direct and they will get you hooked up on a new one. They will give you a P/N that you can take to a dealer and get it even cheaper than through them. I had to do the same thing on a trans rear output seal after I forgot to put the coupler on before the seal.
