Found the clunk.. It's when the wrap around leaf hits each side back and forth.
    IMG_20160705_195208_01.jpg

Can that be cut down or anything? And not sure if it's supposed to but my hanger moves an awful lot back and forth as well.

Also have a ticking or clicking sound only when I engage the accelerator. Anyone have an idea there? Sounds like it's coming from the rearish of the vehicle.

My wrap around leaf does the same. I'm sure you can cut it but I added wagonnerr leafs to my pack and they don't have any clamps around them and tend to shift side to side some. My hangers don't move at all. I don't remember, did you use the TG kit? And are they TG leafs? If so, you can always call them. Super helpful. I didn't use a kit and they still gave me good info the few times I called

Yeah i used the TG kit. I think my issue is the hangers moving laterally and that's what causes the springs to be able to move

I guess this thread is for the "spend a year putting leaf springs and LC axles under a first gen and think you've done something really special" crowd.

Excuse me I'll go order some leafs and light bars so I can be cool too.

    Fucking joke.

How is the hangars moving, that shit should be welded solid to the frame!

Sorry obligatory "typical drivers side drop LC axle and leafs springs" pic:

Who cares, fuck the haters! It's not like you did the work so nobody can bash you for the hack job. We can all laugh together. Earlier this year I drove 5 hours to another state for a fj80 that I pretty much felt I had to buy after driving that far. Turned out to be a lemon but I fixed it and made 3 grand on it. Moral of the story is for the most part nothing is that far gone and can always be made better! Expect for @slander truck, that this is to far gone now. :boink:

I agree with slander. Check your welds. Hangers shouldn't be moving at all.

love the bashing. My welds are ugly ass hell and nothing is perfect about my rig but when it's kicking ass on the trail and not breaking no one gives a fuck so all this key board shit goes away when we lock in the hubs. That guy i thought was a bag of dicks turns out to be a pretty cool guy on trail. Point I'm making here is Y'all spend to much time giving opinions and not enough time trying to break your shit.

Oh and i got your long travel right here. :headbang:

it moves about as much as i have drawn here. it might be attributed to the large gap in the upper left.

Is it a single shear mount or double shear? It shouldn't move, unless back and forth... or, is it a creeper joint at the top?

I was all supportive of you fixing this truck up but if you're gonna reciprocate the douchery I gotta let you know that buying a 13k paperweight that you haven't seen is no better than what you're shitting on here. You might as well have bought the light bars.

Just fix it up and go wheel don't be a dick too.

oh you know it flew. I was just getting a feel for how fast i had to go to get that 6,000# bitch to leave the ground.
I didn't see any other solid axle trucks fly that night.

 okay. That's pretty bad ass! Not sure I'd be willing to huck my truck like that so props to you! But I do agree. It's all in good fun. Currently having to much fun wheeling my truck. Most dirt it's ever seen and I can't get enough of it.
