Sounds like going directly to PSC for that part may be the way to go. At least for all the components, minus the hoses. I'll never screw with those again.

I'm bling and have a PSC pump on my truck

But honestly PSC is the way to go over the TSD hodgepodge. It seems like you can piece it together just well enough to work for a while but everyone ends up with a PSC system in the end.

Thanks for the information. When I bought that pile the owner gave me a "Detroit for the rear" thats sitting in my garage. I've pretty much dismissed it as crap since everything else I got from him was. I'll post pictures of it and maybe someone can tell me what it actually is. I'm not familiar enough with verious lockers to tell if he's completely full of shit. I haven't even checked to see if it really has 4.88s in it like he said, but I'll be doing that tomorrow.

I have the PSC pump too. It's awesome I love it. Steer 40"s with lock to lock with 1 finger.

Not having your own space to do the work sucks! It gets really expensive when realizing the rent money could go towards the project.

Hopefully the gears and locker are the real deal. That should save u some coin. I would save money by going with auto lockers. Put the money towards the steeering which is really hard to to build correctly on the cheap.


Stay engaged with the project. It can be overwhelming with time and money but it is totally worth it.

IMO its a waste to source everything through PSC unless you dont have the confidence to put a system together yourself.

Looks like a Detroit for a 14bolt but not 100% If it is and it is in good working order that should save you some $$

What kind of power steering pump is that on your list? Also, is the steering box from pirate rebuilt, drilled and tapped?

Does that have 2 cross pins? If not that may be a factory gov lock, which sucks. Google 14bolt detroit and you will see what the detroit looks like, its a lunchbox style on that axle, however if its a gov lock (factory limited slip, 1 cross pin) then there is not detroit for it and you may be SOL.

Doode..it means that it might be a Detroit locker. As slander recommended, Google photos of a Detroil locker for a 14b axle and compare the photos with what you have. The key item being the 2 pins.

 

Sweet!! T hat'll save some money, provided it works. Now I just gotta get the damn wheel spacers off of it. I don't believe there is a socket known to man that will get to these bastards. How he got them on is beyond me. I've tried 6 sockets and none fit. 21mm is to small for the lug nut. 22 and 13/16 wont fit on the hole. I see a day with a cutting wheel in my future

 

Try thin wall sockets? (not sure if they sell these things anymore, but I have a small set that I bought years back)

When you find a socket that fits apply hit with a torch a little bit to loosen them up (or soak them with PB blaster)

 

I don't think they sell them anymore. I bought a "Thin wall' on Amazon that isn't. Its just a stanard thickness chrome socket. I checked the Snap-On and Matco catalogues online and dont see anything. I'm gonna take a spacer from the front to Lowes, Sears and Northen tool and see if I can find a socket to fit. Might even let my buddy with a lathe try to turn one down.

Push come to shove I'll take a box of cutoff whells to the bitch and cut through the spacers and all the studs. But I REALLY don't wanna do that

What materials are spacers made of? Can you bastardize them with a torch?
