    that's great!

Has allpro created a newer/updated version of their instructions? I have read a few stories of guys that really had a hard time getting the kit right following allpro's instructions (especially the location of the shock towers); so they ended up just doing their own thing.

Not really, they just gave me some basic measurements and pics that looks like it was just taken off Black Betty. But it really depends on how you cut everything. It's good to have a starting point tho. Luckily I have a lot of help from @1uzrnr with setting up the links. But there is so little room, just gotta put things where they can fit, while trying to keep the lower links flat as possible, and drag link and pan hard parallel.

1uzrnr's rock crawler. This is the guy I usually wheel with

That (the part I highlighted above), my friend, is absolutely true. Some people go crazy with those link calculators. But at the end of the day you just have to compromise based on the space you have to put things; covering the basics (lower links parallel as possible to the ground, drag link and panhard parallel with each other, vertical separation between lower links and upper link etc.)

And you think you have no room to put parts? Trying linking a tacoma with 1 tons :D

If you keep wheeling with that guy your rig is gonna end up like his :D

Does anybody add any solid crossmembers to second gens after doing a solid axle conversion? I plan on a shock tower bar, but that won't really strengthen the frame. Especially near the motor mounts. I wanna add something if I can find some space.

Mine doesn't really count, but I welded a bar between my frame horns under where the fan shroud will be. Id defiantly build a strut tower brace as well.

Not real sure. I'm too noob to be on pirate. And yeah, it has a 1UZ engine in it. He recently sold it tho, and is planning on building a monster samurai. I gotta finish mine before he finishes it :D

All this talk of money. Can't take it with you when you die. So enjoy it now.

I'll be doing a sas in a few years once we bring our current debt down and I can get out of this subdivision and hoa.

3link front d60 14bolt with a 63" leaf swap which will be done in 4 days. On 40s is the plan.

I honestly don't think that's realistic. I felt like we hauled ass on @EddyRRT's truck and it took about 8. That was with access to a hand plasma and a plasma table. A torch would have spend things up a little but not. much. Just the grinding alone is a good 8hrs work if not mores. I'd say there's a full days trigger time on the Mig gun and plasma cutter.

Maybe with 2 shifts working around the clock? Or maybe he's gonna start it in 4 days? Love the optimism tho.

I think 2 teams of two that had done it a few times and had parts pre fabricated and EVERYTHING on hand MIGHT be able to do it working round the clock. and by parts prefabricated I mean new frame rails build and drillilled for the steering box, all the link mounts fabbed, links made ect. Even the "kits" require a lot of work to make things fit right.

Yep. Don't forget about custom drive shafts, brake lines, power steering lines, and all those other things that I can't even think about yet
It's worse for me being in Hawaii. Not many places that have that kind of stuff. Always waiting on parts from the mainland.

Exactly. We got lucky that we have two shops in town that do that work with about a day turn around. Even with that I made 3 or 4 trips there and spent a good 8 hrs total fiddling with it
