The biggest bitch is loosing the taco booster for the older t100 booster. Doesn't offer nearly the assist as the tacoma did. Half tempted to jump to a Chevy booster and master

That's what my friend did in his SAS toyota...plus chevy parts are so ridiculously cheap.

Please figure it out so that I can copy what you did since we basically have similar set ups lol

The AW4 auto trans was a pretty good piece of scrap from Toyota! I'd rock a 4.0/AW4 XJ all day. Plus you can pirate parts from one to stuff a Dana 300 behind your A340F.

I don't follow, the booster in my Tacoma is just like any other 90's Toyota booster. The T100 is just dual diaphragm and has the mounts in the correct spot to mount a T100 MC

. What. The taco booster and the 94 booster are nothing alike hence why I had to switch to run the T100 master cyl

Tacoma boosters are stupid expensive, at least for the second gen. I just replaced the one in BAsketcase, it was over $300. If I screw this one up doing the T100 MC install I'm going Chevy, just due to the parts cost.

Normally people go to the T100 MC first for the extra bore size and then go to the booster once they realize it's a bitch to create pressure on an MC that large without the booster that goes with it.

I'm speaking in T100/Tacoma/Tundra terms from the 90's, not early pickups. The T100 booster should be the best one you can get since it is dual diaphragm. I'm not sure what you would be losing from a Tacoma booster to a T100.

Toyota stuff isn't very expensive in the longer run. 90's GM stuff is cheaper up front but isn't engineered to nearly the same degree as Toyota stuff. No GM vehicle goes 200k miles from the 90's without the owner saying it only required routine maintenance such as 3 alternators, 6 tie rod ends, 4 ball joints, and 2 fuel pumps.

People call me crazy when i say buy a reg cab 3/4 ton truck from the 80s and strip it down and run that. You have a v8, big boy trans, 1 ton axles, and evreything (system wise) works with everything else. Yank the sheet metal off of evreywhere but the cab, tube it out, and run 40s on the stock suspension. I wheeled with a dude that did just this because he couldnt get his taco done before a takeover and paid 500 bucks for a beater to wheel the weekend before. He wheeled all the hardshit with no issues and was considering selling the taco lol.

Im Running the booster out of my 94 pickup parts store said it was the same part number and I already had that booster so I bolted it in. Lost lots of assist. Bit of they lied and the T100 is better then I guess that's the fix. As far as being able to supply enough for rear disk conversation for the 14 bolt inhavent got that far yet. So many other things in life need funded like injectors and injection pump for this new diesel I shouldn't have bought. Should have just found a frame for my old one that was already built

Since I need to figure this out, so would it be better just to buy both the booster and MC from a t100 and call it a day? I still need to upgrade my brake system but haven't been able to decide which route to go. Was leaning towards the chevy conversion because it is cheap, but if the t100 is better I'll get it instead.

For some reason that does not appeal to me... unless it is a trail rig only. I tend to prefer smaller/lighter rigs with big tires and powerful engines.

Still working on the powerful engine part of mine :D

Trail rig obviously. Betting that most tacomas on tons weigh more than a stripped down fullsize truggy thing.

The problem is with an 80's beater that you strip turn into a trail rig is it's fucking old and you still have to upgrade a million things on it. You have to ditch that carb then upgrade and gear the axles and steering. And after all that you still only have a trail rig. A built taco can take your as to work or the grocery store then you can wheel the piss out of it while it keeps you dry with AC or a heater so yeah that's that's appealing over saving money one some 80's pile

That last comment seemed hateful. Its not I'm just half asleep still. You mean like what's left on a list of things to do? Nothing. It would be cool to make the brakes work better but past that it's just going to be mobile upgrades and maintenance. Better winch's, new tires,. Build some tracks for it

    Nah....

All you 1 ton axle haters take these things way out of proportion. 1tons are not as dramatically heavier as people claim.

    As stated by Brian:

    [/QUOTE]

So if you round it up, a rig with 1tons and big meats gets 1,000lbs heavier. Spare parts, tools and fat ass passengers make a rig just as heavier:luvya:

What makes the different and where the drama really comes from is in the tires. 40"-42" tires that's a lot of rolling mass, which certainly slow things down the highway. I am thinking about getting a set of AT 35"s for daily driving because DD is not fun with 40"s

But whatever, if my truck got 1,000lbs + heavier with the wontons and 40"s it is totally worth it.
