Is it because of the axles/tires or because of you? :D

It's me :militarypress:... Truck weighed 4400 without me in it after I just bought it and add'd a toolbox and so e tools and gear. So I'd say I did fairly good adding all that frame plating and tons with 42's. And yeah it's not power house down the free way but it spins them 42's up to 80 and torque I need on trail is there.

1000+ lbs is a lot of weight. Over a 25% increase in the truck's weight from Toyota axles to 1-tons.

Brian was pointing out how heavy 1-tons are over Toyota. His axles are significantly lighter than a stock 60 and still gained a significant about of weight going away from the Toyota based axles.

480lbs for a front factory dana 60..... i definately dont carry that much extra shit while wheeling. My spares and tools are maybe 100lbs extra weight, and if my wife rides with me, thats 120 extra lbs....

Funny "tons arent that heavy, my trucks now slow as fuck and i now need a v8":luvya:

But I don't think he was complaining about the added weight after everything was said and done :D

    Haha..not at all!

The appeal of the v8 for me is more to pair it with an auto tranny to create a nice v8/auto combo. Looking for an engine that has real torque BEFORE the gearing has to pickup the slack :D

even if i had a more powerful engine already, I would still get a smaller set of tires for DD. 37"s and 40"s are too expensive to waste them daily driving.

The one in my profile pic weighs over 6k in DD mode. But it carries a lot of tools and BS.

    Nice!

It seems like you could have gotten a little more droop with longer coilovers.

Favorite part of the the pics is your dog taking a nap under the truck LOL

Also...I am digging those big ass jack stands you have. Where did you buy them from? I want to have a couple of those in my garage

Those big jack stands would have been nice. I had to take a different approach. Welded a stand made of 2x3 and 2x2 box onto each frame horn at my desired ride height. I'll cut them off later

The dog and monster jack stands both belong to @1uzrnr
Those things are rated at 10 tons each!

Those are designed for working on semi trailers primarily. I've considered snagging a set from work for the weekend but they are outrageously heavy

Amazon sells a different brand, the ones under my truck are Napa, but they are probably all the same, just rebranded.
Also they are available in 3 heights. https://www.amazon.com/Sunex-1410-1...rd_wg=nfbuj&psc=1&refRID=N816E6VZG7MVB1H00SA8

Rig looks great man. Really amazing evolution,,,I have been following your build. YOu have done a lot great work on it! Glad to see you are another fellow rebel that decided to think outside the "all toyota parts" box :D

Cool man. Thanks! Though I know Amazon sells pretty much anything, for some reason it didn't occur to me that they would sell these. I really think I am going to order a pair. They look really good and I think they are worth the price. 10 tons is insane! But now that I have big arse axles and a good amount of flex these will help whenever I need to do some work. I have been wanting to get some really tall jack stands for a while.

Wratchet straps help as well when jacking up the truck with a lot of droop.

could you expand on that? do you mean strapping the axle to the frame when lifting the truck?
