    That's what I thought. Heavy pigs :D

So how much wider is the D60 than the factory axle??

So with my reg cab, 40"s, 1 tons and a 4cyl I figure I ain't breaking anything any time soon

    Second gen Access cab V6 4WD = 3960 lbs

    First gen Xtra cab V6 4WD = 3515

That's factory curb weight on both.

It's not dissimilar to people thinking the first gen Tacoma is huge compared to a third gen mini. Dimensionally they are exactly the same, the Tacoma weighs more because of the added safety features but that's about it. I think the third gen pickup weighed around 3100 with a V6.

Curb weight for 1st gen Tacoma V6 Extra Cab 4WD: 3,515 lbs
Curb weight for 1st gen Tacoma V6 Dbl Cab 4WD: 3,705 lbs.
Curb weight for 2nd gen Tacoma V6 Access Cab 4WD: 3,950 lbs.
Curb weight for 2nd gen Tacoma V6 DBL Cab 4WD: 4,035 lbs.

Found these are Cars.com. So it seems like its less than 500lbs for the comparable cab configuration. the 2nd gen dbl cab was the short bed and not the long bed since the 1st gen doesn't have a long bed

Curb weight for 2nd gen Tacoma V6 Access Cab 4WD: 3,950 lbs + average 100lbs Betty in the passenger seat.
Curb weight for 1st gen Tacoma V6 Dbl Cab 4WD: 3,705 lbs + average 500lbs Betty in the passenger seat.

Well Shit looks like we are about the same...:D
I challenge the 1st & 2nd Gens to have our trucks weighed and see the real truth:boink: Weight is still weight on the truck/drive train/engine, regardless if its all in the axles or whats in the bed.

haha... But seriously has anyone weighed current setup for trail day? Looking at all the different SAS builds on here it would be cool to see the numbers. I'm going to weigh mine with just my trail gear. Pretty much a recovery bag, jack and spare tire in bed. The last Two pages has me wondering the real difference.

I'll scale mine tomorrow on the way to work for shits and giggles. It's the upside to working near a truck stop...balanced out by the downside of lot lizards and trucker porn shops.

    You left out the downsides?

I have no idea what mine weighs post sas. There's at least 40lbs of booger welded flux core and a 75lb Ford steering box on it, and my new front frame section probably weighs as much as all the ifs stuff plus frame I cut off.

My fiancé gets concerned with the slang I bring home from work. Managing a group of Chicago truck drivers and dockmen will do crazy things to you.

On an actual Tacoma related note...I drove my truck today and I realized how much quieter downturn exhausts are than just an open outlet from a muffler. Plus the AC is fixed...so it should actually be a pleasant experience to be in Moab for a week in July. Any tips for a first Moab trip?
