    Well the plan was a 4.3 v6 Chevy vortex, but I'm going to keep it Toyota and do a 22re. Picked up a g52 and t case today. IMG_8585.jpg

    Now to build a crossmember because it was a 2wd at one point. Shouldn't be hard, gonna pick up some tubing for that and a bed cage on my truck soon :D

    So just gut and swap the entire drivetrain and it's fine... Just save your $$$ and get a S10 body and frame or something 100% cheaper than a toyota.

    Nothing better than wheeling a solid axle 4cyl mini truck on 35s or 37s and embarrassing everyone else on the trail.

    Could pick up a taco 2.7 with comp trans and tcase for 2g's here in idaho

    you went fancy with those rear brakes. I just kept the OE rotors...and will probably replace with whatever napa sells when they need replacement :D

    But aren't you spending more than that already on your build?

    I'm sticking with solid rotors too. I hate the idea of mud and crap filling the holes. A few of my friends have drilled and slotted rotors and don't have any problems tho.

    Paid $50 for the truck, $300 for the axles, $300 for the tranny and t case, trying to find a motor for $500. Then obviously 37s are gonna be around $1300

    I had fancy ones in my tacoma when I had IFS. To be honest it was never an issue with mud/dirt, and I never really experienced any braking performance gains from the drilled/slotted rotors either. So it was kind of a waste of $$$.

    big tires are so expensive. always a budget killer lol

    What about everything else? gonna drop engine, axles and rest of drive line as they are? No work needed on any of those components?
