Axles need gearing and lockers. But I'm saving for a Harley right now so I'm just building it as I find deals

There is no gain from drilled/slotted except the some tiny unsprung weight loss. But then you lose some heat sink if you were truly pushing the rotors to the limits.

Neither of which are really an issue with a truck. I will always buy blanks myself.

even with chromos I wouldn't do it with a toyota axle.

Run it! If you have a 4 banger and a light foot it will last, we had a guy in our group running 42s on his stock IFS rear. Stock up on spare 3rds just in case.

Nah no need for 40s. Would take the fun out of some trails. Did get my 37s mounted and put on today. Now just need to order chromolys for the front and trim fenders and the cab lol

These were blanks and I just drilled them. The performance gain comes in at low speed high force braking. It's like a tire having more siping in it for ice traction. Having said that the braking improvement from drums to these disks isnt all that great and I weighed everything I took off and put on and the difference was me saving a massive 15 pounds.
Also if anyone is doing this and u can't believe I never saw it come up. This kit shortens your wheel studs by 1/4 of an inch. Found out replacing the studs with dually studs fixes that problem. And last the T100 one ton master cyl supports the disk swap perfectly

12 hours worth of work into one halo bar before I was happy, really made me appreciate why custom fab work costs what it does. Fortunately is should all get easier from here :D

Thanks and I'll pass! I really underestimated how much work this would be.

I've watched too many videos of spectacular rolls in Moab and my fiancé is riding with me while we vacation for a week next month so it's time for a cage. The group I wheel with is all capable of getting in some serious trouble now so there's no reason to not be smart and do something safety focused instead of capability focused

An exo is my next project. Not sure I'll have it done by my Rubicon trip but my group is getting the same way. We are trying harder lines and trails and i would rather not flop with my gf in the rig. Last time I came "close" we tipped to the passenger side and it scared her pretty good. So it's next on my list as well.

How was it bending the main hoop? Is yours one piece or did you make 2 separate ones?

It wasn't bad once I actually decided what to do. It's two 80* bends for the corners and a bend in the middle of the windshield until it was square. I originally wanted a one piece a-pillar to rear hoop bar but the bends were going to be insane once I started. It's one piece of 1.75x.120 DOM.

Yeah most new diffs have them. Unless they are euro trash then the fuckers barely give you a fill plug
