You guys are so lucky! That's cheap. I paid a ton of money for my kingpin.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that decided to step outside the "all toyota parts" mentality :D You really get the best value for your money with these axles....and a bunch of extra weight but something's gotta give I guess.

1997 t4r has super duty axles, 5.13s locked front and rear. 3 link front with 14" kings. Rear 63s.
This will help keep weight down low. Me and a buddy couldn’t move it. I’m 6’1” 265. And he is maybe 180. I had to use the truck to move it out of the front yard and into the garage.

Sucked it up with the winch and drove it in.

When I bought my D60 the seller loaded it up on my truck with a fork lift. No problem.

Then I got home and went like :annoyed: getting that thing off the bed of my truck. My engine hoist saved the day.

An engine hoist, BTW, is worth its weight in gold. I use it all the time for everything...handy to flex the axles if you don't have any other way of doing it

    That's funny.

I helped my friend SAS his F150 with a snowfighter D60. It's nice knowing people with bobcats and forklifts. My other friend roaded his bobcat 1/2 mile to help us unload the D60.

For those of you that have put tons under a 2nd gen taco, what did your lower link eye-to-eye measurement work out too?

I'm going off of the information Wyatt provided me and that's leading to a lower link that's close to 48", which seems pretty long considering the weight of the rig. I haven't placed the 60 yet to get actual measurements, so the links may be shorter. Just curious what others have done.

I would recommend downloading the link calculator and playing with the numbers for link lengths and mounting widths, for lowers on a front axle you should have the frame end mounted narrower than the axle end (typically) to counteract oversteer.

48" Is about right. 44-50" works great.

At the end it is all about fitting what you can with the space you have.

That seems pretty long for the front, I can check my Rock Buggy. Links are pretty long, but I forgot exactly,I want to say fronts are 40" and rears are 45". They are 2" 1/4 wall DOM, and I bent all 4 lowers on first trip out :frusty:

They are crazy expensive. I looked into it when my truck was being built but couldn't justify the expense.

However, if you find that you are bending your good ole' DOM links too often then it might be worth the investment in the future.

That's a bad as rig you have in there BTW.

Thanks, yeah, I'm pretty hard on her. First trip was Hollister Hills, and I caused more damage there than the Hammers, Moab or the Rubicon

I think the new hot setup for DOM is 2 1/2" 1/4 wall sleeved with 2" 1/4 wall. But that is a heavy ass link.

Can’t you run stiffners on the lower link ?

You really pushed her hard then :D

Aluminum links do not bend....or I should say, they bend back into the original straight shape after you smash them against rocks. Here in AZ many rigs have them for that very reason. I think they are a good investment of $$$ long term.

They are also lighter than DOM but I would personally not spend that much money on them just because of it.

2" 1/4 wall is probably too light for lowers unless they are short, rig is light, or they are chromo.

I've seen the videos for that event. It looks like a great event.

That's a nice pic of your truck BTW  How do you like those tires? On a 40" they are the cheapest you can find and I was thinking about getting those next time.
