Finally got me some really tall jack stands that are making things way easier with a SASed rig.

Now I have the option to easily jack up the truck by the rock sliders and/or front/rear bumpers. Been wanting to to be able to do that for a while now
With these now I don't have to improvise with pieces of wood to increase the height of already maxed out regular jack stands...even my tallest ones.

That's sweet. I totally want a set of those only it's hard to justify when there are 4 lifts at my work and one in my dads shop.

Damn you are so lucky to have access to those lifts!

I think these super tall jack stands are a must for guys that do not have access to lifts. When I can afford it I will get another pair.

It is really a challenge to work under a SASed rig in a regular garage. But with these now things are a lot easier....

    here http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/80078/10002/-1

They were actually under 200 bux when I got them, so the price must have gotten up recently. Shipping included....not bad considering they are 50lbs EACH  They ship in two gigantic card board boxes, double-boxed.

Pricey, but I think they are worth the money. These jack stands are really well made and solid as hell.

They have shorter ones too (same design) that are cheaper. I just personally wanted the tallest I could afford.

Cool jack stands, they look like mini versions of what we use on our aircraft at work. I have noticed I usually need to get the truck lower to the garage floor if I want to work on it. My damn trans jack barely reaches when it's sitting on it's tires.

I can only imagine how big those things are that you use to work on aircraft:eek:

I don't think I would use these if I wanted to lower my trans with a trans jack. But for everything else suspension related they seem to make things easier.

since my dad and i are tool junkies the buying a lift was an easy choice. Picked it up brand new for $3,000.

Got everything ready to get the rear axle installed this weekend. Sits to high for my liking so gonna lower it an inch or so. Getting excited. 4B50CB19-4B92-4214-B10F-565ED26E4A72.jpg

Who's the poor bastard that has drawn the short straw to rebuild those fender wells/rear door to get the tires to fit for you?

In before the "fuck this, I'm done" and the heep sits for a few years with hacked out fender wells because the tires don't fit.

That’s the last thing I’m worried about right now. Seen different ways to do it. When I do my shock hoops for the rear then I’ll start worrying about which way I’ll go with it.

I would start thinking about it sooner than later, that will dictate your ride height. That sheet metal work is going to take longer than building the suspension on a unibody Jeep. It's not like a Toyota with a frame, that shits all structural. I helped my friend build his zj on tons and 37s and we ended up building a whole subframe for it, and raising it up a bit in ride height due to the required surgery, and the body still tweaked.

Have a buddy who put acos hydraulic bumps on the front of his xj (bolt in replacement for stock bumps in the coilspring) with no reinforcement for them and proceeded to try some whoops and bent the coil buckets on the uni body. I think it's a pretty big waste to build a uni body. Require so much reinforcement and at the end of the day, it's still a sheet metal uni body lol.

Same friend with a zj came down off a ledge in Moab and hit the rear corner and tweaked the entire jeep, took him 8hrs on a friend's frame puller to straighten it back out!

Heck of a great price. My buddy in town has one but he paid way more than that.
