    snow wheeling was hard on the truck need to rebuild my coil overs with parts that don't exist anymore since AFE bought Sway Away. so looks like ill be buying new Fox 16's didn't really need 18's anyways. also for the sake of making a front drive line CV last longer than a couple of years im going to move the Atlas back about 9".

    I'll have to rebuild the lower link mount and trans mount/skid plate but that's easy fab work. As far as actually moving the Atlas back 9" well that will involve a marlin 2.28 crawl box. Yeah say hello to having a 404-1 final drive.

    Edit also going to use two motor mounts for tcase mounts and have them at the rails so almost no torque will go through the crawl box or the transmission case while not putting a bunch of vibration through the body like i have now with my narrow mounted poly bushing style mounts.

    Would someone care to enlighten me... Lately ive been seeing v8/ls swaps into tacomas with SAS. Why? I know to each their own... But why, even if you had a crawl box... WHY?

    I'm on 42's with 5.38 gears and I can get up 80 mph If I have the throttle pinned to the floor. That's not with a 4 cylinder either . I have the 3.4 v6 supercharged and modded up. Last Dyno said 320 horse at the crank pushing 11#'s of boost. It's a different game off road though trying to throw a truck up a steep or slick hill lots of power is required and even whith what I have I've pondered the LS swap alot

    Only goes so far, 150hp is still 150hp. 75 mph is about all I’ve got on 37’s, 5.29’s and a 3RZ

    Regear helps correct for the larger tires, but doesn’t help with the weight. Still need a lot more power to push around those axles and tires.

    I can't get up the big dunes in sand hollow (which you have to go through to get to most trails) or even big hills with 37s, 4.88s and the 3.4l auto in 1st gear at 5k rpms and like 25 mph lol. Most jks with stock motors can't either. And cant xrawl the hills because it's to soft. But everything with a little bigger motor and a lot of skinny pedal can. They have their places and time

    Had a bit of fun out at Katemcy Rocks over the weekend. The taco went up more stuff than I thought it would. It helps to have a spotter you trust, that's for sure.

    The trac bar below the driveshaft saved me several times and only really hung me up once. The 14bolt hung me up more than anything, but that's to be expected. Also, my new one ton master cylinder did it's job. The only time the brakes didn't hold was when I was in a nearly vertical position. I might upgrade to a dual piston caliper to get a bit more holding power though.

    I keep blowing tranny’s in my crawler, so eventually I’ll probably have to do an engine swap so I can build a stronger tranny.

    I’ve got 5.13 gears. I’m torque but slow as shit.
