Sell your drop bracket lift and go with a quality mid travel kit from either dirt king or total chaos with some kings and you will be much much happier with the ride quality and performance. The only downside is you won't get as much lift height, but with the right springs you'll manage 3" or so.

How do you clear a 33 inch tire with 3 inches? I have the 3inch icon on my 4runner and 285/55r20 Nitto Trail MT's and they rub slightly in the bumper. Can't imagine a 33 on 3 inches. Plus I hate tire rubbed and like clearance. That's why I went with the drop bracket set up.IMG_20180717_201738524_LL.jpg IMG_20180609_162654047.jpg

Wouldn’t coming back from a DB lift require a custom work? I’m thinking they had to cut cross member to install? I’m sure some parts can just be upgraded to the DB lift to make it better.

Yeah you cut the cross member out so a new one would need to be made.

If you’re asking this...the most asked question in the universe of Toyota forums ever ...then you’ve got some more reading to do before even thinking about a solid axle swap.

No, I have read plenty. I perdoperso think it's an idiot move to pack a tire in the wheel well that doesn't clear, oh let's crack out a torch or saw call and make it fit. That's why when you purchase a lift kit it shows what tires will clear. Get some Bushwacker cut out fenders and go to town. That's ridiculous.

You don't even need a lift to clear 37s on IFS. Just a grinder and a welder. Cut that bitch up. People are so misinformed on tire clearance, it's hardly about lift, more about cutting, unless you want your shit to look stupid with a 55 inch lift to clear 40s or something.

What are you running? 7 wide wheels on a 12.50? I've always been anal about tire rubbing and what it's doing to my truck. Or the tires. I hate that noise. And why run a tire that won't clear when the suspension travels anyway. So I guess when the truck flexs the tires come to the hood?

Bump stops and clearencing the wheel wells fixes that problem.
