I'll have to do the math again but last time I checked buying everything from Barnes was $1500~ cheaper than the 4WU kit for links/brackets/joints

Of course a leaf spring hangar kit is gonna be substantially less than that :D

Sky's hanger with frenched shackle kit is what, $350?

$100 for monotube shocks from the Monroe/Gabriel catalog, $150 worst case for junkyard leaves, $100 for shock hoops

Build your own hangar for less than 100

I'm biased, but that shackle in the rear design evreyone uses is fucking terrible.

Leaf spring heaps come with shackles forward and a "shackle reversal" is considered a performance and luxury mod

You're starting to sound like my buddy.

Axle swap? Might cost a few hundred out of pocket. He has the racks of steel, springs, axles, brake lines, hydraulic fittings, etc on the shelf

I used to think that in my jeep days as well until I saw a few SAS front axles walk out from under the truck and invert leafs with the shackles in the back. You also need a driveshaft with 4ft of slip (exaggeration obviously)

FWIW cruisers have the shackles up front.

I have some friends with that kit and they end up hacking it apart to push the leafs higher up anyway, may as well just build your own at the outset.

I'm like one of the .0000005% of TW members who hates spending money on mods, so I try to do shit as cost effective as possible.

I'm on the opposite end. I have the tools/skills (or ability to borrow as needed) but the thought of buying kits makes the work more manageable.

My struggle with any project ( even the little ones) is breaking it down into the individual components/steps and tackling them

    I thought about it

After considering another $1500 for RCVs, $600 for a diff, knuckles, brakes, hubs etc it ain't such a good deal in my eyes
