Anyone run a 2.25" ram with a factory pump?

Currently running a 2x8" ram that needs to be replaced and I have a 2.25" on the shelf. Not sure a 22RE pump will be happy pushing that hydro assist though

That’s too big for assist, it’ll be slow. 2” is pretty much the max for most pumps and even then, a 1.5” or 1.75” will steer quicker on the street depending on the pump

That's what I was thinking, it is kind of slow as it is but with the 22R I'm not going above 35-40ish even with one case in low. The power just isn't there lol

I do have a TG TC pump sitting on the shelf but it should probably be rebuilt... then I'm looking at more fittings, a new bracket, lines, and an angry steering box.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to seal slap this ram, have it rebuilt, or buy a new one. Unfortunately a local rebuild or new ram are the same price point at about $300.

I was looking at Surplus Center and PSC rams but I'm tired and just want another bolt in replacement.

Seals are easy to replace on small rams. The trick is just finding the right part numbers

Well, I could even pay TG $30 for a kit containing all the seals if I was inclined to actually do the work myself...

    I wouldn't trust anything other than a truss. Otherwise, pre-heat and post-heat.

Yeah, i have been stressed about that issue... The bulk weight of the truss was what i was trying to avoid. But, bad welds, and cracks are worse.
