If one was to 3 link the rear end on a 2nd Gen Tacoma, what are the suggested spring weights you'd start with for dual rate coilovers? I have no way of getting my sprung weight....or unsprung corner weight for that matter, to run any good calculations. Any help would be appreciated

No i went with performance series. I won't see the benefit or the extra cost for factory series IMO.

Definitely a lot taller than ifs, but not super tall, about 25 inch frame height. good progress today.

Nice!! After building a low rider SAS I wish I went a bit taller. With how long these trucks are that extra height would come in handy and wouldn't be any less stable IMO. I was at 23.5 right after the swap so it's probably a bit lower now. 25 will be nice!

40s fixed that issue for me. 37s I dragged everywhere. 40s I rarely touch

For those with taller lifts in the rear end, any issues with the rear driveline angle? I know some people switch to a 1 piece, ive also seen a carrier bearing drop bracket.

Ditch the CB hassle altogether and go 1 piece with a double cardone.

Go with 2.75ODx0.156wall. Most shop built their shaft with .80 and .120 if requested. Go thicker so you can abuse it and drag it over rock.

I’ve had no issues with the carrier bearing in the stock location. The two piece keeps it out of the rocks. Seen a ton of smashed one piece ones because of the length. Replace the carrier bearing once a year with the u joints and call it good.

I prefer to keep the carrier bearing like @malburg114 pointed out. Set your pinion right and it will be fine. I only had 2 fail on me, one because I bought that cheap one everyone blows thier load over on TW, it failed on the highway in less than 1000miles, and the other because I fucked it up on a rock but that's a one off. Still drove it home.

And biggest benefit I forgot about is being able to use stock rear driveshafts. Odds of destroying the tcase to carrier bearing is slim. Maybe a u joint. Maybe have to replace the carrier bearing but both 30 minutes jobs. I carry a spare rear shaft between the frame and being stock length makes it easy to find spares

For what it's worth i wont be rock crawling so i'm not concerned about dragging a 1 piece over rocks. My biggest concern is driveline vibrations. I've heard people complain from both ends. I suppose it's "which scenario" will be better and easier to mitigate potential vibrations. I don't have the angle yet for the rear.

2 piece be nice to retain the CB but I extended the rear axle too far back to be able to utilize the factory second piece.
