Your going to have to regear the axles. If you don't and just let the tcase do all the reduction, then you will start blowing up transfer case outputs.

As for a 14b shave, it's not hard and you don't have to go that crazy, plus you will have axles for a buggy if you build one some day. The other advantage of tons right off the bat is you can save $$$ not having to use upgraded axle shafts. Quite a few people beat the poo out of tons on 40+" tires without ever upgrading the stock shafts with no real issues.

Except for KP60 stuff. Chomo's are mandatory on them since they neck down smaller than a stock Toyota birf.

I'm not sure you can go 6 lug without adapters on Sterling's but I'm far from an authority on them. Just have owned a few under my ordinary SD trucks.

I would strongly consider just selling your 6 lug beadlocks and going to 8 lug if you're making the jump to tons. Everything just gets a lot easier.

    That's an easy fix, don't buy KP60s

I agree! It's funny how much axle tech has moved forward since KP60 was always the answer and commanded an insane premium.

Id probably go with steel this time anyways. Mine are shredded after no time at all. Do the SD axles need shaving or is it just the 14 bolts? 14 bolt are looking like the best option. Didn’t want to jump off the deep end from the get go, but not a fan of doing things four thousand times knowing what the end result will eventually be.

It's not mandatory like a 14b shave is but I wouldn't do one without shaving if that says anything.

Just having the ram push towards driver, vs the picture you posted having the ram push towards passenger.

Calling Tom Woods drivelines today to see what they recommend for the rear. Hydro assist is on :yay:

Makes no difference on placement. I preferred the cylinder end on the axle side, look nice that way imo. More flush, flat and inline

Just the driveshafts, wiring the lockers (which i might do), and test drive/flex to make sure everything is functioning properly and she drives like a cadi on the hwy. Once it's solid, i'll be road tripping from OR to MT to pick her up. If i do anything, it will probably be a Blackbox Titan, but that wouldn't be until next year, to see if i really need one. I won't really be playing in rocks with this.

You'll end up doing a crawlbox, lol.... Guess what I'm trying to say is, if you plan on doing it later, might as well do it now. So you don't have to pay 2x for both shaft mod.

I don't currently plan on having one. But, I may do enough snow runs and ponder about having one some day. The moment the truck gets back it's sliders and front bumper. I've got a custom bumper template cut and a 12k winch sitting on the floor.
