Tube notches off your garage floor will be the only thing ricocheting next year when you realize you will have to cut the entire front end of your truck off and rebuild it with the suspension setup you are trying to run.

If it is, so be it! But it won’t be. It’s really not that much more complicated to do and I think it’ll be worth it. But it’s all :jerkoff: until you crawl under a second gen and look for yourself or link anything for that matter.

How many links have you set up in those twenty years?

Not trying to shit on you but just a little bit, just curious why everyone is quick to shit on a four link. I get the issues at hand, but I like building as much as I do wheeling. Both are a fun challenge for me. Three link “just because everyone does it” isn’t good enough for me. If we wanted the easy way out we wouldn’t be wheeling or fabricating Tacomas. We’d get a jeep and a four link kit that goes on in a weekend.

None because you basically have to cut the entire front of the truck off to get the angles right for a double triangulated 4link, or build a truck that's tall as fuck, or have a setup with link angles/setup so shitty leafs outperform it. I recently rode with a non Toyota that fell into one of those categories. Go read sites other than Tacomaworld and you will see what the obstacles are.

I'm all about trying new stuff but eventually you have to wonder why you don't see very many full bodied trucks that aren't tall as hell setup with a double triangulated 4link. And no I don't consider that abortion from GA you keep posting a full bodied trucks, that's a buggy with a cab on it. Now you can 4link the front jeep style, but it would still have a pan hard bar and you would be right back to where you started and may as well three link it.

And yes it will be fun watching you wad this thing up on the trail next year because you didn't herd my earlier advice, unless you somehow gained assloads of seat time since the spring when I was out with you.

It doesn’t take half a second of peeping under there to see the obstacles, but yeah TW is little help. I’ve found some decent info on pirate, but it’s all really the same situation. Engine will limit uptravel in either case. I’d rather have a little more uptravel ditching a panhard. Full hydro of course will help too. Frame is level with the engine essentially. Dual triangulated will avoid the oil pan, cats etc, but the uppers will be challenging to avoid the pumpkin, and if placed in the cab mount area, frame may have to be notched a bit. As I’m guesstimating currently I’m at 6” over stock height wise with 4-5” of uptravel. I appear to be shorter than other SAS trucks, but may have to sit a bit taller since I’ll be on 42/43’s

    Haha no clue.

Side note. Don’t even have the axle cleaned up or the frame cleaned up/plates and worried about links

There is nothing wrong with having a jeep, especially the unibody no room for shit type :anonymous:

They are the far superior vehicle for everything :crapstorm:

I’m all ears for facts on why a four link won’t work. So far it’s been a bunch of :jerkoff: also, I was planning links before a single bolt came off

As someone mentioned before there is a reason people do a 3link vs a 4 link.

but I hope you prove us all wrong.

That’s more :jerkoff:, but it’s all good. No one else has come up with anything better than “because everyone else does it” either.

I’m not going to argue. I’ll be here for folks to bounce ideas off of and have a conversation. I’ll report back once I’m deeper in the build.

There's a reason why people who actually pull this off aren't the ones on the forums. They're out doing it. It won't be the 1st and it won't be the last that's done that's been told you can't do it on a forum.

It's funny because I'm sure the Wright Brothers, Einstein, Tesla, Franklin, Eddison on and on heard similar sentiments and now we have the lives we have because they didn't listen to the naysayers and people who can't think or do anything outside the box and past the blinders they wear.
