    I may still be interested depending on interior and drivetrain condition. I’m on the hunt for a third gen to put fj80 axles and 37’s under right now.

    It’s all good haha. I’m not afraid to be wrong. It ain’t the first time and it won’t be the last! I want more of an adrenaline rush than crawling, but I’d still like to build a crawler one day. It won’t be a double cab second gen though I guarantee it :rofl:

    What's the consensus on ps pump for the 3.4 TG vs PSC need to upgrade pump for hydro assist.

    Also got some wheelin picsIMG_20221123_150617710_HDR.jpg IMG_20221123_150640516_HDR.jpg IMG_20221123_215609_193.jpg

    Yeah me too. I know I want something that can roll and not be destroyed and even a caged Tacoma won’t be that. I have a quote for a turnkey bouncer from busted knuckle and I’m 90% sure that’s the direction I’m going to go. The more I factor in the countless hours of work and endless tools, parts and crap to buy for the taco and still be left with a quarter of the performance- $95k feels like a bargain. I’m tired of looking at the mountain of work the taco would be before I could even enjoy the damn thing.

    I went with the TG pump. Didn’t fit worth a fuck, and it certainly didn’t work worth a fuck either. It was louder than the stock pump and experienced no difference in performance versus stock. Went back to stock eventually and was happier.

    I was, yes. At idle, the steering was slow like normal, but at any sort of rpm higher than idle, the hydro assist worked fine.

    @5amStevens

    Every high flow pump brand have some kind of issue imo. And there's probably manufactured by 1 or 2 company beside Howe?

    I'm running the PSC, so far so good. But others I know complained about being too loud or feeling dry spot when turning from time to time with the PSC. I also have a handful of buddy's with TG setup that have the exact issue.

    My buddy's new TG ram leaked at the seal after 2 days of driving to work last week. Mine haven't after a couple of months. Guess that's a plus for PSC. Even though his TG is cover under the warranty, I wouldn't want to re-do the work.

    Deciding factor for me end up being cosmetic. I preferred the PSC grey ram vs the TG black ram. I also preferred the larger PSC reservoir.

    Go PSC, take the time and buy the field serviceable fittings. Buy your own quality hydraulic hose (any PSC/TG/Howe kit doesnt provide enough hose).
    Buy PSC res with the built in spin on filter for serviceability.
    PSC recommends SWEPCO fluid, no experience with that. I run and recommend Amsoil Hydraulic tractor fluid (5w-30), keeps the pump pretty quiet and temps seem to stay low with a inline finned cooler.

    To put it into some regional context to put you at ease of going down the rabbit hole:
    Here in the SE the trails go from mild/hard for a full bodied rig, then there is a huge gap and you are in rock bouncer level trails. Rock bouncer trails being straight up climbs, with multiple 8+ft ledges lined with trees that you need big power and a cage to hit, no one is crawling it. Out west there is buggy type trails, but you can kind of choose your own adventure and the stakes are a lot lower even on the buggy stuff, excluding sand hollow but that's a whole different deal.

    Watch the most recent flex rocks and rollovers reign of rocks for context. That's actually not THAT steep of a obstacle compared to some.

    Dayman wants to run that kind of stuff.

    I run the psc. Its a great pump the tc model. I could get you a part number. It bolted right up to my 2.7 2tr-fe, we had to do something minor cant remember exactly what. Ive ran that bitch out of fluid more times then i could count lol jk, due to shitting gear boxes.resolved the issue and it still works great. Psc reservoir definitely. I went through two prior and they were shit trying to save a little coin. Broke down and had one overnighted to moab in may havent looked back.
