    Not sure if troll or?

I feel mine but they definitely aren’t loud when they contact. Also helps that mine don’t act as additional spring rate at anything less than ride height like @slander

There is a lot higher value to having a resi CO vs an emulsion high speed or not.
Your biggest hurdle with the bumps will be contact pad and with a air bump that pad will need to be bigger to be touching through the whole arch of travel during flex. The more you move it inboard or outboard will also affect the size of the pad. That will also affect the effectiveness of the bump and your tuning with it as far as the pressure. A hard duro poly bump eliminates a lot of that issue. But....... like was mentioned before there are some big advantages. It hasn't been said yet but you can really play around with some shock tuning and lighten them up some and use the bump more too. Ride quality is by far the least of the advantages of an air bump the control you can have and tunning you can do with it is where they really shine. But for getting it on the road quicker and easier and then start the upgrading and playing with tuning and stuff and shake down runs that real world throws at you. I'd do the poly too. Tweak things start tuning the shocks and stuff learn to drive it then upgrade thrown some air bumps on it maybe bypasses later down the road etc.

That sounds like a plan to me. I’m so ready to get this thing rolling. Glad I have a supportive wife who lets me work on this thing. Either that or she doesn’t like being around me anymore :rofl:

This isnt about the resi’s per se… i have resi’s to go on my build.

But you can’t tell me that someone building a rock crawler out of a Tacoma is going to benefit from the added fluid volume of a 2.5” coilover with resi over a 2” coilover with resi. The cost to realized benefit ratio is less there than it is with air bumps. My point was that if he’s beating on it to the point that a tuned 2.5” coilover with resi is necessary, that air bumps are worth the cost. Or that he could’ve gone 2.0’s with resi and spent the difference on air bumps if cost was a factor. $400 is minimal in the grand scheme of overall cost. We’re talking less than 5% increase.

I don’t know man you gotta pinch the turd at some point. Why not RCVs, Reid knuckles, bypasses, cage, LS, etc etc? Shit will never end web building the thing. I agree with let’s get the bitch on the ground and upgrade the shit as the need arises.

Whoa now. I’m talking about a small cost upgrade to bump stops, not $1500 axles or knuckles, $4k bypasses, or a cage and a $10k engine swap lmao.

I went for them because it was still within budget and made sense to me cost vs. benefit wise vs. some of the other upgrades I could’ve sprung for.

The turd is the Tacoma. I’m not sure the connection you’re making. I don’t want 95k in a turd.

He's trying to show you some sort of hypocrisy. That happens with out full context of all the conversations and knowing the end goals as compared to previously. Also it's obvious how much more capable those things are than any wildly built rig out of any platform unless you do something like a WOD or Goatbilt etc type chassis.
You said smooth body which is an emulsion shock. Now if we're talking both resis I always go the biggest you can until the point of diminishing returns and well packaging constraints. On a big heavy rig such as the taco the 2.5 is the smallest I'd go period. I'm not saying air bumps are the wrong choice or a bad choice. My point was that's not a necessity or would make or break him getting on the trail and doing shake down runs. They can always be added later and provisions made to do that. The build doesn't need them at this junction. It needs to be finished and hitting the trails and driver needs a lot of seat time. Those things will be far more important and be better than 500 in air bumps.

This gets beat harder and ran on trails that 99% of ya'll on air bumps won't and don't do and he's running poly bumps.

I don’t think 2.5’s are necessary at all on his rig and a 2.0 with resi would be more than sufficient. My opinion stands that the additional $500 he spent on 2.5’s over 2.0’s would’ve been just as well served, if not better served on air bumps. But neither of us are preventing any sort of scientific data to the argument so it’s a moot argument other than trying to dick swing.

Your point about ole boy wheeling harder than any of us arguing for air bumps is a hard stretch. But again, no data to present and just a dick swinging argument. I’d love for us all to finish our builds and do some in person dick swinging.

Dick swinging is dumb. I will prove that to you all after I wheel harder than all of you on this trip.
