I thought the LS crank sensor was a square wave but I could be wrong, been a while since I've been behind the wheel of an LS... It'd be a bummer if that ECU didn't support tach lol

It prob is. I think the directions are generic for any motor. I have an x max so it’s the second best efi Holley offers. Plus my dash doesn’t say Shit about adding a tach.

I’ve got some rearranging to do if I want to keep all the uptravel. Shocks will poke up about 8” through the inner fenders where the top of the tape measure is. I think I can extend a few wires and clock it sideways, but does anyone have suggestions for relocating the fuse box completely? Other side is wide open since I ran the intake to the cowl.

might could mount the coil overs behind the axle right above the lower link mounts. That would lower the amount into the inner fenders, but not sure of the trade offs.

Nvm, probably going to make a mount above the lower link mounts. That’ll move the shock down to where I’m only 2” into the engine bay and can use the Barnes shock towers I bought. Those little inner c mounts are cute, but not a great fit for the taco.

I found some trail gear bumps. All four, threaded bodies and mounts for $760

Hopefully they’re good quality. Looking at how close my shit is to some really important engine stuff, I really want a solid stop for my heavy ass axle lol

That's the advantage of an air bump, you will know exactly what the final collapsed length is. Poly can deform over time or even crack and fail, plus it's harder to account for when they crush down when the axle hits them.

It will be interesting to see how the TG ones perform and the quality of them. I would crack some Chinese jokes, but they are probably made by the same children that build the fox and king ones.

Also some advice when you move your fuse box, get a good cable crimper, I used one of those shitty ones you hit with a hammer when I had to re do some wireing and I had to re do it all, I bought an actual crimper and night and day differnce.

x2 on the TG bumps, not looking to spend $$$ on Kings, Fox, etc. Was looking at the Locked Offroad, but even they are $$ with an InstaG cult following. Hoping the 4" TG are decent, as the price is decent.

Hopefully I won’t have to move it more than what the slack it currently has allows if I move the shock mount behind the axle and down. I’m about to go find out. Really don’t wanna relocate it haha

Very decent and I got $120 discount when I added to my cart, but not sure why. $500 less than the Fox ones I was looking at, so I figured I’d roll the dice. They’re selling rebuild kits along side them so maybe they intend for these to become a staple. Time will tell.

for what they are I don’t see any reason they’d be more expensive. They’re essentially tiny shocks.

Well the inner c mount is the only way to go. If I mount lower behind the axle I can’t go wide enough to clear the frame and the calipers. Can’t notch it because that’s where the engine mounts are. Going to build an engine cage and mount the shocks off of that. Only way to not have the shocks go inverted on full articulation. Anyone else mounting coilovers into the engine bay?

True, gotta keep an eye on poly bumps 'cause they do degrade faster than people realize though companies make them seem as indestructible lol. But they are cheap to replace (or used to be), so it evens out.

Love the TG jokes! But here they come again to the rescue the Toyota offroad market. Things I've purchased from them turned out good. They had shit in stock and shipping was reliable. I am aware this has not been everybody's experience, maybe I got lucky.

I moved mine as far as the slack allowed without having to cut/clamp any wires. I know it's a different truck and setup than yours, but maybe you'll get lucky too.

I think it was very common to have to mount coilovers into the engine bay...at least with the 1st gen Tacomas. With mine at least it was the only way to keep the truck "low" (still not the lowest riding one but good enough for me). This is also the reason why I had to move the fuse box out of the way to make room for the coilover.

Yeah that’s the only way for me, too. Took a couple hours to figure out where to send tube through, but I shouldn’t have to relocate anything. Still gotta add a lot more bracing, but got a good location where nothing binds and the shocks don’t go past inverted throughout the range of travel.
