I'm running psc 1.75x6.75 ram, you will be fine with the 1.50x6. I didn't buy a hose kit (per your post with TG high pressure hose). I mount the ram, took some measurement and went to the local hydraulic shop and had them made the 2 hose for the ram and the high pressure hose from the pump to the steering box. 30 buck each hose at the time, might be close to 50 now?

I'm a huge fan of the Eaton hose and fittings PSC sells. Field serviceable, clockable, and buildable on your own.

    https://www.pscmotorsports.com/parts/hose-kits-biy/psc-hk-achp.html

I also run an all PSC setup: Resi, pressurized breather, TC pump and an 8" throw ram since I used FROR arms for my steering.

Is that the kind you cut with a razor blade push in and tighten down? I’ve been debating what to do for hoses. Would like to do it myself, unless it’s super difficult or risky to get a good seal.

You need to cut them with a cutoff wheel in a grinder since they are steel braided internally. Then they thread into half the fitting before the other half screws into it. Similar to an AN fitting but crazy secure and easy.

They are worth is, thread one part into the hose ID, then screw on the other part for outer OD of those hose. Never had a leak and they are great, do it yourself and keep some hose for a solid trail fix if you ever cut a hose.

seems like the way to go then. No single purpose expensive tools to buy either which is always nice. Currently looking for a giant allen wrench to use once on my clevis bolts haha

Discounthydrualichose.com is another source for quick custom hoses if you don't want to build your own. They made me some PS hoses (-6 AN stuff) and were a quick turn around.

You're probably fine to use a Toyota pump and resi too if you wanted to save a few bucks.

    $32 - Trail gear PS belt (https://trail-gear.com/steering/steering-components-catagory/pump-pulleys/ps-belt-9430.html)
NO V-belt for the 3.4, you use a 4groove pulley so make sure your ordering a 4groove pulley for the PS pump. Old 22re, maybe 2.4l? used v belts.
Trying to find the belt length i used... **Looks like Bando 4PK1045**

I smoked a stock 2.7 pump the first trip out on my last rig with the same axle, might have been other factors (no hydro assist) but I'm ok paying for peace of mind this time.

Did you smoke the pump or just not realize how much an IFS box sucks without assist? With my assist lines capped off, I can't even turn 37's on my garage floor sitting still. Assist hooked up, and it's one finger all day.

Either way, sounds like you've got a plan.

Pump gave out mid-trip, manual steering all the way out sucked. With deep backspaced wheels and 37's with the FJ80 axle the PSC pump i had on the 3rz worked well without hydro assist. I've got shallow backspacing on this one, and need to run 1" spacers up front to match my 07 rear axle WMS. Keep the questions and guidance coming, this is a huge help!

Right! I had no assist for half a day and I don’t know how you did it for so long.

I’ve got probably 5psi in the tires right now but yeah. You could fight and muscle it if you really wanted but it wasn’t ideal.
