Just the norm skids, sliders, & 35's
Packaging a good 4 link would be a challenge, much easier to package a good working 3 link vs 4 link.

Well the reason i ask is i've spent some good time trying to find examples of one and so far no luck.

MY cousin build lifts etc... he 4 linked his dodge on 46's all build in a computer program then he fabricated everything himself including building the track bars.

We were talking about when the time comes how to do my front end swap and he stated he wanted to do a 4-link setup similar to what he has. Only the brackets/bars etc would be smaller.

So i thought i'd look around and see if there's another tacoma who did a 4-link front end.

Its very hard to keep a low COG and any sort of uptravel with a four link on these trucks.

I would bet your cousins truck is retarded tall.

Indeed - he's not the type to take a 50k truck and thrash it lol It's more of a "I can so why not" kinda rig. And it brings him alot of business!!!

He's currently building a older toyota on the side.

Linked front only to start with on 44's, spider locks, ARB's front and rear, and full hydro steering For this guy right here.

    This.
Yeah... can be done though. Packaging the linkage isn't even the main problem, though. (imho) Steering is the big problem.

W/o getting extremely creative/complicated with steering linkage, you have to run full hydro on a triangulated 4-link to make it streetable. I don't know if you're opposed to running full-hydro on the streets, but that's the issue. Since a triangulated 4-link set-up moves the axle straight up, down, maybe a little back, with no lateral movement, a steering box/draglink set-up will turn the tires to the right upon compresion (pothole on the highway, dip, or hard braking) or the left on droop (dip, or accelaration). Epic bump and throttle steer like this is bad for streetability! Might be possible to minimize this effect with hydro assist, but it will not eliminate them. And even off-road, hydro-assist with triangulated 4-links like to break things... like launching steering boxes off their frame.

You need a panhard very close to the same length, angle and plain as the draglink to eliminate these problems. And of course, you can't run a panhard with a triangulated 4-link.... since the panhard causes lateral movement in the axle during travel, it would bind with the up and down motion of the 4-link.

Sooo if you don't want to run full hydro, and you want to be able to run your rig on the freeway with out dying, go with the 3-link. :) I'm guessing this is the best option for you...

However, if you're not opposed to running full hydro on the street, or if your rig will be a trailer queen, go full-hydro and 4-link her!!!

Lot of info about this on Pirate.....

Wow - - - right over my head!!!

Never thought about it like that, and yes my rig will never be a trailer queen so i need to consider driving on the road.
    Thanks for all the info

You may have mentioned it, but are you going to be using a "return to center" valve to help with the hydro on the street? I know you will be using some good quality lines.
Nice. Read through and looks like he's getting some bump steer, but it's "not bad". :nosture: Just when he hits a "bad bridge at 80" hummm....

Not ideal, but if you can live with a little bumpsteer, maybe it's ok to use a steering box on a small rig like that.... Not my cup of tea, but I do love that it's such a sleeper!! :D
I figured it's not going to be a trailer queen.... No problem, man, something to consider. Wish I could explain it better....
