I held back judgement dropping a 2nd gen taco cab onto an 85 frame and desecrating that frame, but I see the SUA and shackles forward and now it's interesting! Post more pics and details as this progresses!!

Spring over made it huge original plan was 80 series radius arms but coils hit the frame (too narrow)

That's what I originally thought too. My first thought was like "oh no if that's a mini truck axle it's gonna turn into a banana in no time"

80 series radius arms and coils would have been dumb anyway, that is if you were actually going to wheel it.

Basically just an overbuilt camping truck, dual cases with 4.7 in the rear case. 5.29s in the diff. Oem cruiser suspension would have been nice, links would have been nicer. But I don’t have a link suspension wallet currently.

Anyone removed the pink vent cap things from a gas tank? Im replacing my tank and the new used one is cracked, so if possible, I could swap the old vents on to the new tank. They look to be sealed with some hard plastic or sealant.

I think those fittings are fused to the tank. Any chance your used tank can be returned?

Need more info what type of vehicle/tank is it and what hoses are those?

If it's the part I'm thinking of a first gen Tacoma, not pink, it's press fit into the tank and held in with a gasket. I snapped one of hoses off and was able to get a new assembly from Toyota.

Its a 2004 4runner, but the 2nd gen tacos have the same setup, and the vapor vent thing that goes to the charcoal canister. I don't think it is serviceable but was hoping someone has another idea.

If you can't find it on Toyota parts deal or some site like that, If it was me I would try to pry the already broken one off the tank and based off that see if you can swap it. If so seal it with some RTV. Or slather the broken tube with jb weld and see if it throws codes.

Thanks for the offer, I am going to just return the broken one (cracked during shipping) and get another one.

I ordered a NWF dual chain drive case setup 2.57x2.57, I got a 3.4 automatic planning for one tons with 5.38 and 42s. I’ll be wheeling mostly big rocks, rubicon and other spots in Northern California. My buddy told me I should cancel the NWF and go the 2.28x4.7 marlin taco box. What do you dudes think?

    4 speed atlas :anonymous:

The slower the better, at least for me. More control equals less broken parts.

I’m running an NWF chain box to a 4.7 gear drive box. I’d opt for the 2.28x4.7 in whatever fashion you can get it.

    Yup

loved always knowing I’d never break my atlas. Couldn’t say the same about a raggedy ass crawl box

My box is still chugging along just fine

Almost went with a 4 speed atlas but wanted something slower :D

Thanks guys. I really like the NWF box but don’t want to regret not having those low low gears. Guess I have a few chain drive cases I may not need :jerkoff:

You’ll be fine with an auto.

I’m a reduction whore too for the record, but I’d rock it if you have the NWF case ordered. The NWF will be stronger than mini duals too

For those that deleted Abs. Is the brake proportioning valve for a 2nd gen built into the Abs module or the master cylinder?
