Thanks, I think that’ll be my plan then.

Yes Martec, no spacer here. He recommends a 2” with a 0 offset wheel. This was first flex after install. Just a test run…

Yeah I crammed my shock when I had leafs with 1.5” spacers, 4.5” backspace, 37s.
With the Martec kit I skim the dirt/mud of of the coil springs, 2” wheel spacer, 4.5 backspace

Probably been asked, haven't had a chance to read 703 pages.

Is it necessary to swap the oil pan on a 2.7 when doing a leaf-sprung SAS?

I've seen several threads and youtube vids about these swaps. From what I've seen, they've only replaced the oil pan when it's been the 5VZ.

I'm in the early stages, and research is all that I'm doing aside from replacing bearings and seals on my axle and looking to see what I need to buy. I know there is a lot that goes into this swap, and I'm trying to make sure I don't overlook little details like this before I get the IFS cut off and the truck up on stands and realize I still need to order parts.

Google "3rz solid axle oil pan swap" and you'll find your answer

Researching is going through 703 pages worth of useful and useless information. Not I don't want to read through 703 pages so I'll ask instead.

If you did "research" you'll notice a few threads below with a title stating "1996 2.7 hitting oil pan" and skim through that and compare to what you have. There's a shit ton of information regarding swap for the 2/3rz SAS on Google search engine.

I have a driver's drop 1982 Jeep J10 Dana 44 with the same 6 lug pattern as the rear. It has 5.38 gears, and a mechanical locker. There are no spring perches yet, just a bare tube so that's less to cut off.

Yep. Going through both useful and useless information throughly is a good start here on tw along with other toyota specific forums.

Just ask yourself, ummm if the axle is placed here and get cycled, will it hit. What's the lowest portion below the frame currently?

Built your axle around the type of driving you'll be doing and size of tire you plan on running in the future.

Consider the WMS so you don't need to run 6" rear wheel spacers to match.

Not exactly the same, but i swapped a 3rz into a first gen 4runner with a passenger drop axle which required the rear sump conversion. High steer will be in the way, depending on axle placement that may also be in the way. I'd plan on it.

Yea, haven't seen a front sump SA on a Toyota. Maybe they're out there?

You won't get me much from the 703 pages anyway. Mostly reposts from Instagram or people asking why a shop built their truck a certain way. You are better off googling or going into build threads in the first gen forum and seeing how people do things.
