A lot of guys run 05 super duty stuff because its easy to find and has a ton of aftermarket support. Unit bearings and 35 spline shafts make it an easy choice.

The older stuff is getting harder and harder to find which is one of the reasons why guys go with the 05 super duty axles. Something to keep in mind is the 8x170 patter on the hubs, your gonna need to redrill to match a 14 bolt or run a sterling in the rear to match the lug pattern

I mean it will work but the high pinion is better for drive line angle.

There are many companies that sell the unit bearings pre drilled and studs installed for the 8x6.5 bolt pattern and depending on the rotor half the time you don't even have to modify the holes to fit. Makes it way easy.

Build a 609 axle. Not that much more expensive to build and lighter. Drop out thirds. Whatever bolt pattern you want

Nothing big. Got it smogged. Started trimming, need to trim more. Needs sway bars bad, been working on designing how those will fit. That’s it really.

Yes, both front and rear. The location of the steering box and the swing of the pitman arm make it difficult to package, should be doable though with custom fabricated arms and running the bar high up and in front of the radiator.

Yea, my rear setup was simple but been struggling to try to figure something out for the front. Placement of the sway arm will need to high, above the steering box because of the pitman arm.

i still need to add a front as well

Can any point me towards build threads for two SAS’d Tacoma’s I found online. Just curious to find out more info. Figured they are both extreme enough, someone from this thread followed them at some point.

The silver one is from Cali, from the Marketplace sale page I found it on. The black one’s Instagram tag doesn’t exist, but I found a few things searching ORW.

Think I found his Insta, but looks like he sold the truck, though before he did, he was on 58's. So I doubt he was on a 8" :D

Imagine building a truck doing such a good job and spending so much time and money on it that you just sell it and loose your ass on it. I'll never understand why people do that.
