Thanks for sharing you build. I notice everyone puts the frame plates on. I get it, its for strength, but I always wondered my 95 runner had a steering box and as far as I know there was no extra strength in that frame so was wondering it its rally needed. Just thinking out loud.

Yes. I personally had a 1st gen tundra that the original builder did not plate, or sleeve the frame when mounting the steering box and it started to collapse the frame. I’ll have to dig for the pic

I believe you it makes sense the box frame will collapse without sleeves inside.

There’s a lot of force placed on the frame from turning big tires. Especially with ram assist while the tire is wedge against a rock. As @allenfab stated, I seen frame get tweaked from no plating. I reinforced mine on the top, bottom, and both sides includes sleeve through the frame. Rather be safe then sorry.

If anyone is wanting to add a front sway bar, this information might help you in the future. Making mine removable with .250 brackets instead of welding the brackets to the frame like the rear I have.

@Team_Jake since you were considering a front sway

Everything’s cut, measured for clearance twice, and ready to weld. Will triple check clearance when I start on the air bump in a week or two. Clears lock to lock (pitman arm and tire) by an inch or so and is +1” away from CO. Currently, trying to get some 1.75” tube bend to tie the tower together.

    Brand: TK1 KOH ULTRA 4
    Bar: 43.50
    Tube: 40.75”
    End link: aluminum 12-13”
    Arm: 20”
    Splined block: offset

Tried that backordered might just make my own adapter. It's not an emergency but don't want to leave it to the last minute.

Rock Hound Offroad makes an adapter for a 2000s dodge 2500 master cylinder to mate to the tundra booster. I received it the week I ordered it. Planning to install it next weekend

Could use some opinions on my axle placement-
Should I raise the frame height 1" to gain some distance between the diff and oil pan, or is it adequate where it is? Currently mocked up at a wheel base of 129".
