    I was at a junk yard a few years ago and saw a old comanchee with a block lift made out of 2x4 NAILED together, the nails were what really blew me away. And i just assume it was in the junkyard for that reason

    Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    Yes you can, but not pipe. What you want is PVC Type II in round stock. Type II has high impact strength. It's black. It's fairly cheap too; a 2" dia. piece is $13.35 per ft from McMaster-Carr.
