Looking to do a mild speaker swap to something with a little more strength and clarity. I do NOT want to muck with subs or amps or any of that mess. I plan to install sound deadening while I'm putting in the speakers, but that's all I really want to do extra.

Anyone who's done something similar that would care recommend brands, models, etc.? Also any website for same? (I was thinking Crutchfield simply because they're all in one and include the necessities needed to make the upgrade easier.)

    Thanks gang.

    So here’s the thing

strength and clarity comes from amps. The factory radio will not provide strength and clarity to a $50 set of speakers or a $500 set of speakers

Well... that blows. I don't wanna make my ears bleed or fill my access cab with giant components. I just wanted a little improvement in the overall sound quality & strength. I have no desire to cobble in a bunch of stuff.

Hmmm... good info to know. May have to rethink whether to bother. I have to tear off the door panels to swap black handles for the fugly chrome, so I'm sound proofing the doors while they're apart, regardless. Did the rear seat delete last year and lined the rear wall with Dynamat. I love the clean utilitarian look, and the extra measure of quiet is really nice. I expect similar improvements when the doors and maybe floor/ceiling get the treatment.

Thanks again for giving me something to chew on for a few days....

I mean, amps are a lot easier and smaller than they used to be.

look up the Kicker Key on here. Dozens of threads about it
