Four link is actually slower than any independent suspension. You are going to be able to soak up the bumps faster with an independent suspension, other than that you are correct. if you doubt me just look at the "Ironman" Ivan Stewarts MCI trophy truck.

    You sir are incorrect.

Independent rear suspension can be fast but there is a reason why ALL top TTs todays use trailing arms. They are strong and reliable. Ivan's truck is a work of art and very quick but until Geiser, Porter, Camburg, BMS, and other top TT builders adopt them on winning TTs then I dont see how how you could justify that they are better. If IRS TTs get on the podium then I will embrace the technology more.

Here is another cool build on RDC that is IRS. Like I said its cool technology and I respect it but it is not superior to a properly set-up 4 link. YET.....

I never said they were better, I said the suspension is faster. The suspension cycles faster and is able to soak up the bumps faster. We can agree to disagree. I was only stating my opinion. Think about it this way, why have all major truck manufacturers gone from solid front axles to independent front suspension? My guess is because they ride smoother...just my .02 ;)

It is true that the front IFS suspension is faster. I was also referring to rear 4 link suspension not front IFS suspension. Sorry for the confusion.

I also thought you were referencing the rear IRS trucks being faster and didnt want that mis info to be out there. :) There is a lot of that on TW.

    Matt you are correct.

A great example of IRS failing was the TSA class 7 truck DNF'd again this weekend.

I bet it will stop pretty good as long as there is enough clamping pressure and a good pad. For an example look at a monster truck they are setup very close to that and they seem to stop pretty good figuring there tire size. Ya there not doing 60+ for long period of time. But there stopping a lot more weight then we are.
