    Ok something screwy is going on here, it's a 97 but it shows to be a 2.4L (2RZ-FE) 2wd truck not a 2.7L (3RZ-FE) 4wd truck.
I wonder if someone did a swap.

The truck ran according to who i got it from he said they jumped someone off with jumper cables and when he slammed the hood the truck died and it didnt have spark when he tried to start it. Then i got ahold of it and have got it this far now.

So it's been swapped, this complicates things. Now we kinda need to know what that drivetrain came out of. Do you have the original PCM so we can get some numbers off it and maybe see what we're dealing with?

This is why I try to discourage people from swapping stuff from factory spec because it greatly complicates diagnosing issues especially you not being the original owner and not knowing what was done to the truck.

    Yeah, looks like we’re running a 2.4 wiring harness on a 2.7.
Things don’t always go to the same places. Do they?

Number comes up as a 97 manual 4wd so I guess we'll have to assume for now that's what it came out of.

Well the 2.4L PCM has 3 connectors and the 2.7L PCM has 4 connectors so I have to assume they swapped the body harness as well?

Let's revisit those grounds, you said you have 14.4V on them. Where are you putting your meter leads?

Who knows? I’m still looking over the 2.7 diagrams.
My diagrams show a y/g wire too.

And I have little to no data on the 2.4.
The master ECU guide is only for the 2.7 and 3.4
