I created a new thread with just the information on how it was resolved as this one got too convoluted with trolls.

Can you circle the holes to cover in the new thread? Wondering if a push pin would be better than tape?

JUst tape the front two and there is one on top of the part I taped as well. These are holes the size of quarters, I used red duct tape. One of the experiments I tried was stuffing the part with foam which worked, but that would only hold water and possible cause rust,

Probably like we did.....duct tape. I doubt they will redesign the part. Maybe they will weld something over the holes. but ALL trucks are not doing this which is a question I cannot wrap my head around. Unless others are not as sensitive to it (or are now deaf because of their $2000 stereo systems) LOL

Toyota initially said it was "mechanical" THAT is what made me decide to sell the truck, I don't need to be driving a truck with bad bearings or issues in the driveline. So my initial thought of harmonic turbulence (which is how musical instruments using air make their sounds) was the correct diagnosis,

I'll almost put money on the fact that Toyota knows about it and changed something in production. They had 1000's of control arms already made with the holes so they used them up and just substituted the new ones once inventory was exhausted. It's hard to think they couldn't hear this in wind tunnel tests.

Hey I've got the tone noise thing in my new truck. Is there a recall or service number I need to reference at the dealership?
