SOLVED? Cannot get texts from iphone to show on entune plus 2015

My new to me 2015 DCSB OR will not display text messages. All other Bluetooth functions appear to work with my iphone 5. I have tried forgetting/adding both devices. Turned off/on notifications on the phone. Deselected/reselected all functions in the entune setup screen. All I get in the Message Inbox is the heading SMS/SM, and everything else is blank. Any ideas?

 

On your iphone, go to settings then bluetooth. from there, when you see toyota tacoma press on the "i" in the circle to the right of that. once the next page comes up, turn on 'show notifications'.

once that it is taken care of, on your radio...go to the phone screen and click on the letter in the top right of the screen. this should initiate messaging for you. Tis is a quote by: Indeee .

This worked on mine when I had the entune.

Tried all that. Message inbox pops up but all lines are blank.

 

iPhone won’t show text, Apple iOS issue.

 

After trying it again from my wife's i-phone I figured out that for the transfer to take place, it has to be a true SMS text, not an I message. Then it appears in my message inbox. Also only new messages appear, not old ones that are on the phone.
