Aftermarket power tailgate lock and the lock for my canopy both lost power and fail to operate. Canopy lights still have power. Backup camera still functions.

My guess is that it's a break in a wire somewhere that feeds power to the power locks or communicates with the truck. I had both professionally installed years ago so likely no warranty. Going to fix myself but need advice on where to look. Is there maybe a fuse that all that usually gets tied into? I haven't pulled apart wires yet but the canopy has been spliced into the trailer wiring and the tailgate wiring goes back to under the driver's side foot well and into the wiring that runs along the drivers side door under the plastic panel.

Trace the wires from tailgate to cab and inspect.
If the vehicle locks work, it's from the tap of that circuit to the added locks.
The OEM tailgate lock has 2 fuses on each wire that goes to the tailgate lock, no idea if your aftermarket one has them also.
Remove the tailgate cover to exposed the solenoids, test them for function by disconnecting their power connection and adding external DC power. It requires a momentary power input. Flip the feed to get them unlock, then again flip to lock.

Thanks. I've done a little additional digging to try and find the problem. As the issue not only involves the tailgate lock but also the canopy lock I doubt it is the solenoid. But I have a battery charging in the shop so I can hopefully test the solenoid and canopy lock later this week. I checked under the tailgate panel and didn't see any fuses for the solenoid.

While the lights inside the canopy still have power the third brake light on the canopy is also no longer functioning. I have checked the fuses in the canopy and they are all fine. I have checked fuses in the cab that might be related to the issue but haven't found anything yet. Will be checking fuses and relays under the hood soon if I need to. Third brake light on the truck also functions normally. All OEM power locks on the truck function normally.

Here is a more concise breakdown of the wiring.
-Canopy wiring is tied into the trailer wiring harness for the most part. I have not pulled apart all the tape yet to expose connections. But that harness runs the length of the truck and I lose track of it around the Drivers side cab mount. There is also a single wire that runs the length of the truck and is connected directly to the positive terminal on the battery.
-Tailgate wiring is 2 wires that run under the truck and pop up underneath the drivers seat. They were tied into 2 wires underneath the kick panel. Both wires have a primary color that is pink with one having a red stripe and one having a green stripe. There is also a third pink wire with a white stripe. I am unsure of exactly what these wires are but I assume they are related to the power locks on the truck. Those wires run underneath the dash and I quickly lose track of them. My assumption is that they terminate somewhere in the fuse box but without removing parts of the dashboard I cannot verify.

Nothing out of the ordinary preceded this. When I went to work on Friday morning, all the locks worked fine. When I got in the truck in the afternoon is when I noticed that the locks weren't working.

I did, but as each lock is tapped in a different location I would say its highly unlikely that both wire splices failed at the exact same time and just as unlikely that both locks suffered a mechanical failure at the same time. As I am not sure what circuit the wires are currently tied into I'm just providing additional information.

Issue has been located and rectified. There was a break in the wire between the cab and tailgate.
