Wrong. It is very much solved. It's mounted on the tailgate.

 

I thought that was a prototype, so how much and where do I order?

 

It's was a very generous fabrication done by @christian06. He went out of his way to help me out and made it just to see if it could be done. Not sure if he is willing to make another but it wouldn't hurt to ask him.

 

So its a one off fabrication, not really on the market. I will go back to what I was doing. I only have access to a 4 foot shear and brake, but I have friends in the S/M trade. I was also researching textured ABS plastic sheets.

Do you have a before picture? Just curious as to what the blemishes looked like that you wanted to hide

ABS might be the solution though.

 

Yes I was looking for textured ABS .125 or 3mm thickness but the tailgate is 56 inches long or so, meaning it would need to be a 4x8 foot piece and it can not be shipped UPS that ruled my purchase out. If I lived near a stocking warehouse would be much more feasible. Frankly it could be cut to fit and then a heat gun used to form it over the existing metal. A bit of trial and error involved.

 

Perhaps Tapplastics, maybe get a long ribbon and roll it up, maybe easier to ship

Buy the Goat Armor tailgate cover and use as is or trim to your liking.

I have a similar issue with my tailgate and need it covered close to the handle like the pics above on my '07 Tacoma. @christian06 do you make these anymore of these by chance?

 

I'm having issues with my machine, waiting on parts due in a week or 2. But yes I make them still.

 

What is the price on these?
