@mechanicjon - the HID's have been installed the whole time. they are made for my specific drl model. I asked manufacture if I needed something extra. They said no

How hard is it to plug the original bulbs back in to check? What brand HIDs and do you have a diagram for them.
Things aren't making sense for whats happening and what you have done so far
    Something should have changed.

Yeah I bought my truck from Riverview Toyota in Mesa when I lived their. The truck was bone stock with full time daytime running lights. That was the first mod that I did and cut the wire. Problem solved No More full-time daylight running lights

looks like i cannot turn on my high beams now. so cutting the two wires, or one, did do something. Going to splice them back together, and do some more research i guess. thanks for all the help though. there's got to be a way to do this. Let me know if anyone finds out more info please. bulbs are expensive for hid's and don't want them on all the time (drl's).

Did you try pulling the drl relay? I know you said that you got the right kit. But I'd still like to look at a wiring diagram
If you have a link to it or can scan and post if you have it. More then happy to help. Work with me.

EDITED. I MEANT RELAY NOT FUSE.

I did pull the drl main body from wiring harness, and started the truck, but got no headlights at all.

Ok that's pretty fool proof headlight system. One side of your head lights isn't plugged in correct? I'm referring to the stock wiring harness to the new harness.
From that unused plug measure the following terminals and post.
All measurements will be measured like this.

    stock headlight connector.jpg
headlight switch off measure voltage from ground to each terminal and record it
then repeat with lights on low beam and high beam.
So you should have 3 sets of numbers.
then the one or ones that never had any voltage. measure resistance to ground.
post all those numbers. Yes battery connected.

both of my headlights are plugged in. Pain in the butt to remove them to plug back in a oem bulb too. I wonder why my high bean option went away when I cut the wires though... I mean at least something happened, but not the desired outcome. the HID's use a single bulb for my low/hi beam, just like stock.

I can unplug the oem bulb harness from the HID connector. However I don't have the tools or knowledge to measure electrical load from my oem bulb receiver
Hope I don't come off as rude, it's just that I don't know how to do that. I was hoping not to have to go to a shop and dump even more money...

Pick up a cheap volt meter from harbor freight or Walmart. I'll walk you thru it.

Okay. Great going to grab it! What do I exactly do to measure? Stick the red reader into the three prongs on the OEM bulb receiver right? Do I need to do anything with the black reader? Also does the car battery need to be disconnected? I don't want to blow anything up, including me.

Black lead to neg post of battery. Set meter on 20v dc. For voltage and then to ohms to check resistance. Test original harnesswith red test lead

Okay...confused now, sorry to be a pain, but don't know what I'm doing guys. Getting multiple suggestions, and don't want to offend. I also don't want to damage me or my truck further.

The volt meter should be here by tomorrow night so I will be able to see all the settings and switches.

Should I splice my wires, that I cut on the DRL Relay harness, back before testing the OEM headlight bulb plug?
