[SOLVED] Howling noise between 35-45

    Finally got around to this, and I can confirm that these size plugs all worked for me.^ No more howling at 25-45mph. However, I am experiencing a very faint howl at 55mph; nothing I'm too concerned about since I listen to music every time i get in the truck.

    I have a 2014 Accord Sport. It makes a clunking noise when it's been sitting for a few hours and you drive over a speed bump, or even just backing out of my driveway. Honda dealer said that it is normal after inspecting everything and even hearing the noise. WTF? Not normal on any car I have ever owned.

    I have been a professional mechanic for 40 yrs and know first hand how difficult these things can be. Thank you guys for being so Tenacious concerning this problem and sharing your results with the rest of us on this forum.

    Never understood the ultra negativity in these forums. I read the entire thread. There are a few problems that cause the noise. I was simply expressing my experience with the truck and the noise and I had been dealing with it before I found the thread. Thanks for taking time out of your day to put down strangers though.

    I have a drive line howl, directly related to the gas pedal now.

    Ugh.

    Every now and then I still get the wind howl but not as bad. I think I need to plug the top holes. I was under my truck on a windy day and it was howling

    YEah me too 55-60 and coming from the passenger side but it is not as annoying as the initial howl at speeds I am most often at. I will be experimenting with the undercarriage holes in the Spring to find that one as well.

    Thank you TacoBella and Bob!!! I had this problem on my 2014 SR5 and never could find the answer. I just traded it in on a 2016 TRD Sport two days ago and no noise at 35-40 with this truck so far. If it shows up, I now know where to look. I will forever wonder if this was the issue on my 2014. I figured I had an untraceable mechanical issue.

    Just take some GOOP or RTV and apply a ring of that crap around the hole. Did the tape and got rid of the howl. Didn't want the holes plugged so I made a ring of GOOP around the hole to change the air flow over the holes. Howl still gone.

    I heard the infamous "howl" this morning for the first time. Granted, I only have 80 miles on my truck but I wasn't even thinking about it and then all of the sudden I was like, Damn, I know what that is! I can't hear it if the radio is on, but it's unmistakable when it's quiet in the cab. At least I know what to do. Thanks for working this one out, guys!

    Had a good one today..
    Was doing about 120 km/hr and the cross wind gusts were quite strong. All of a sudden this LOUD kazoo like shriek starts coming from the passenger A-pillar area, followed very briefly by a rushing noise. I thought my door seal had just punched out!
    Were the wind tunnel/aero guys on darts when they designed this truck or what lol?

    Anyway, I've got an appointment with the dealership next week to have them look at several common 3rd gen issues.

    Fagetaboutit...Toyota has not officially called it an "issue" as "they all do it" So I doubt there will be a TSB. The last thing Auto Companies want on a new design are early TSBs.....indicating issues...Not while they are selling 12K a month
