I've tried hard to listen for it. My hearing is not the best these days... jet engines and guns. Maybe the dry weather in AZ has something to do with it... "aka wet your whistle"

I am disappointed. I would have thought you would have engineered some remote controlled hole plugs. Then you could play some tunes while cruising. But then you'd have to change your handle to Tacorina. :)

Funny you should say that. For me the howling is louder and more consistent during wet weather...

Thank you for the solution. Noise did disappear during snow and ice storm so it makes sense what you found out. I was down to driving at 30 mph in town to avoid the noise so this is fantastic news. Appreciate everyone's diligence to resolve this. Good job!!

I bet you're on to something. Has anyone tried removing the air dam without taping the control arms to see if the noise changes/goes away?

You can pickup the hole plugs at Lowe's in their hardware section next to all the screws and bolts.

My question, pardon me If its already bean asked. Is it with just the OR's, or is it with the sports also? I guess what I'm getting at, Is the bottom spoiler keeping this from happening on the sports, or is it still happening with them.

How about drilling a small hole in these to see if it will still allow a draining effect and cease the noise

I was just about to ask about plugs. Someone posted a few pages back and showed several plugs, some with drain holes. I'm thinking that's the most elegant solution. I heard the whistling a lot this morning, it's a very windy day, no way to not hear it in my OR.

My suggestion would be to just plug one or two of the holes and see if the whistling / humming noise dissipates... Most possibly the noise resonates from one or combination of all three holes in the frame, and interrupting the airflow in one or two holes should fix stop the airflow pattern and the humming noise.

I have been following this thread since the beginning just out of curiosity since my truck doesn't have the howl. WRONG! After 3 months and 2,000 miles and I heard it several times today. The key was driving about 25 miles MPH into a 20-25 MPH headwind generated by this cold front that just blew in. It was very noticeable even with my high frequency hearing loss. Thanks for finding the source.

I didn't hear mine for the first few days, but once you do, you can't "un-hear it" My sweet spot is 35-40 mph. Sounds like someone blowing over the top of a soda bottle, or a train whistle way off in the distance, not a very high pitch whistle. I first heard it on the highway with a lot of crosswinds, but now pretty much all the time in town between 30 & 40 mph.

Now that everyone has made me listen closely to my truck all the time, I (think) I heard it today. Maybe it was this, maybe something else. I was between 45 and 50 with crosswinds. A very low tone, and almost seemed like a cyclical/whirring sound. Deep hum you wouldn't hear with the stereo on. Not sure if this is what I was hearing, or something else.

This is not something you have to listen for......Its there all the time and is hard to unhear it once you hear it. Listen to the sound file in the OP for the BG howling.....

I listened to that last night at a low volume and thought "I didn't hear anything strange. Just sounds like your average wind/engine noise from inside the cabin."

Just listened to it again at a louder volume. DEFINITELY an annoying pitch! That would drive me nuts! Haven't heard that yet. Glad I know how to fix it if I ever do.

I've got on OR and the strong crosswinds are when I hear it too. Never during normal day to day driving like most of the guys on here. I put some window visors on and this has decreased the noise considerably, not completely, but it's much better. I think I'll throw some tape down there next and see if it completely gets rid of it.
