I have a Icon stage 6 suspension system with the 2.5 Rear Shocks (CDC). Anyone running these shocks with the Allpro Expedition Springs? Worried they will be too short.

    Answered my own question.

    My Icons:
    Compression length - 14.05"
    Extended Length - 23.38"

Allpro Expedition Rear Leaf Springs require a shock with:
    Compress length - 14.87"
    Extended Length - 24.50"

So my shocks are too short but Icon had a solution that didn't involve buying new shocks. They offer lower rod ends that will increase the length of the rod, and thus the shock. They have them in half inch increments. I ordered two 1" rod ends. This will put me in the sweet spot. Thanks Scott at Icon!

double check n make sure you are not fully compressing the shock before you hit bump. Worst case you drop to the half inch shaft extender or add a spacer on the bumpstop.

I hear you. Just went out and articulated the rear to bump stop contact. Still have an inch and a half at contact However the dirt line on the shock shows that it has been pushed 1/4" further than that. This line it probably when I went wheeling in Colorado last weekend. Think I'm good but I'm adding Timbren bumpstops, which are taller than stock, just in case.

hell you might even be able to go 1/2 an inch more. (assuming shock bottoms when there is no shock shaft showing)

Wile, do you have a photo of your truck sitting on level ground with the expo springs installed? How much lift are the expos giving the rear?

I haven't installed them yet. Plan to do it next week. I'll take photos and measurement before and after for you.

I got about 3" of lift with the leafs with rocksliders installed but no bumper on the rear. Then 2.5 inches with the rear bumper installed, spare, and jerry cans filled with ten gallons of gas.

Hey man, I'm looking into the same thing. Did you install these yourself and if so was it fairly easy to do? I'm either gunna go with the allpro standard or the Deaver U402 pack. Maybe allpro for the price. I have a Stage 5 from ICON.

I started to install one myself with a set of 7/8" soft jaws. No matter how tight I made the vice, the rod continued to turn in the jaws. I put a very slight scratch in the rod, I stopped immediately. I would overnight them to Icon to have this done. I have yet to do it myself. :anonymous:

Well :frusty:. I was really hoping to avoid sending them in. These are the only ones I got. Have you installed the allpro pack yet? Did you do the Expo or Standard? How do you like it. How much lift did you get out of them from stock height?

I've had the Expos from Allpro installed by a local shop (not sure if they greased them). The springs are a bit noisy when wet but as they break in they seem to be settling in and quieting down.

As far as lift height, I've never have them with just the stock weight. I had sliders and a front bumper when they went on. About 3" without the rear bumper, 2.5" the rear bumper. Definitely a bit of a stiffer ride with the Expo even with the extra weight but still comfortable. Offroad handling is excellent, even over the washboards and whooptee-doos on desert trails.

I have Bilstein 5160's with the external resorvoirs and was looking at the Allpro Expedition Leafs. Hoping the extra 1.5" of extension that are shown in the specs will work with the leafs OK.....
