Who has the best price for lower ball joints (Genuine Toyota Parts, of course,) and ships to Colorado?

any of the online dealers (McGeorge, or whatever it’s called now, Olathe, Longo, etc). Just shop around calcukated which is cheapest after shipping.

Toyota Parts Deal is also another good resource.

I buy all my OEM parts from this guy. He beats dealer prices and ships relatively quickly.

Made me grin LOL . . . Ourisman Toyota of Richmond.

Did a front end refresh last year and spent 2-3 months answering this question. The part numbers are probably not correct for a '98, they are for an '03, but you can see McGeorge (Ourisman) was the clear winner overall.

McGeorge was the cheapest when I did mine a couple of years ago also.

When I first saw they changed their name I thought they missed the opportunity to call it “Our Is Da Man”

There is a recall set that was only around $180. I don't have the part number on hand but it comes with both left and right balljoints. Then you buy the bolts separately.

    FYI -

partsoug - I had trouble finding all the parts on this website.

toyotaofcoloradosprings - Good price, a few dollars more than elsewhere, shipping very high. Total cost $320 IIRC.

bocatoyota (nucar...) - Bought 'em here for a total cost of $293 including 8 bolts and shipping.

My thanks to all you guys who replied.

Tacomaworld is and always will be my go-to website for advice and help!

Good info Nessal! Ourisman has the recall kit with both LBJs, add (8) black bolts for $203.82 + shipping (and tax if your state requires it). Going with that LBJ recall kit usually saves money. And the newer, improved Black bolts torqued to 37ft./lbs. are stronger than the superseded Green or Red flanged LBJs bolts shipped with the individual LBJs. New OEM LBJs fastened with new OEM Black bolts torqued to 37ft./lbs. yields the most durable OEM LBJ installation that I am aware of for our 1st Gen Taco.

I strongly recommend changing your bushings while you're doing LBJ's. Your front end is more than halfway off at that point, might as well get in there and change the LCA and steering rack bushings.

Got the P/N for the kit handy?

It is included in my signature along with the p/n for the OEM Black bolt w washer.

EDIT: A younger family member recently bought a 3rd Gen '98 4Runner but was unaware of the problems with the LBJs. Interestingly, the p/n that came up for the LBJ Recall Kit for the 3rd Gen 4Runner was the same p/n as the LBJ Recall Kit for the 1st Gen Tacoma 4WD.
