    Hi Jen,
I didn't want to sell it, just don't have the room living in a condo...
Funny thing, I posted that pic this morning, went to McDs, and on the way out, there's my old truck in the drive thru!
The young guy I sold it to, well it's his baby now, he built a rack for the camper, looked great, miss it though...

That's cool that someone else is enjoying it a ton now. And yes, that is a very weird coincidence about seeing it this morning!

In the photo of your '98 - what do you call the piece at the end of your hood, that plastic shield thingy? Is that to prevent rock chips? If so, I want one for the Taco ASAP!!

its a bug deflector, they work great on bugs so only the top 8" of windshield get buggy, it deflects rocks pretty good too

to keep winshield water from dripping in on you with the windows down by adding a rain deflector for your door windows too http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMOKE-TINT-WINDOW-VISOR-WIND-DEFLECTOR-VENT-RAIN-GUARD-FOR-95-04-TACOMA-REG-EXT-/201331574755?fits=Make:Toyota|Model:Tacoma&hash=item2ee04c07e3&vxp=mtr

We have those window thingys already, they are nice. I do think the bug deflector would help us a fair amount with damage to the hood, because most of those annoying little rust spots are right behind where that shield would go! Might be worth spending the $ on....

you wont be sorry, it also saves your windshield too, sure anything can happen with bouncing rocks on the road but in most cases if you do get a hit its going to be high up above your line of sight so its less likely to crack even if it does manage to leave a chip in it.

thing is you need to drill your own mounting holes and you have to be very careful when measuring so its not off centered

Oooh, added bonus!! We do get a fair amount of crap dinging up the windshield. This really seems worth buying...

OK, plan was to paint topper today.

But can of rustoleum says 24 hrs to fully dry. 20% chance of rain starting at 8pm. Then it goes to 60% early AM. :rain:After that, off and on small chance of rain throughout the day tomorrow and for the next several days after that.

Probably wouldn't be wise to try painting it right now, huh? Can DOES say 5-10 hrs to dry enough to handle, and 2-4 hrs to dry to touch.

Otherwise looks like I'm waiting til Thurs or Fri to do it after the rain passes :(

If not painting the topper, then what the heck will I do all day? Wait, I know! :burnrubber: :mudding::hungry::drunk:

Eric took over the headlights, just took off in the Taco to get a kit he read about for $13.

And me? Lounge chair, mister, blazing hot sun, icy cold hefe with lemon, and Dolly baking herself alongside me. Good times indeed.

Did I mention lately that my truck's starting problem is fixed? Ah, this is the life :)

wow, looking at that I would put 100 miles on it and change that fluid again, with that much color to it im sure you still have some of that junk still left in it.

and I would suggest you do the relocate mod for the breather, just crossing streams can get water over the axle and into it

then moved on to the transfer case, and front differential. they both actually looked in decent condition. and of course engine oil and filter just for good measure. the neighbor media blasted our wheel dust covers, so i had the pleasure removing and reinstalling them, but worth the effort:
