Just now leaving to go camping. Plan was to ARRIVE ~30 min ago. Can't believe how much of a PITA it was sorting through all that old gear. Should arrive in ~2 hrs, then a shit ton of work to set up. But hopefully by going tonight, we'll get the spot before anyone else does............

    :fingerscrossed:

    Happy weekend TW!!! :)

    Enjoy the camping trip.

I'll be going on a bit of a vacation myself, starting Wednesday.

Looks like I get 10 or so weeks off from work. I get another knee replacement. Had the 1st one done 5 years ago, the left one finally gave up the ghost this winter. As soon as warm weather hit, the arthritis just started to swell up the knee something fierce.

I'm totally looking forward to it. The last one was a breeze when it came to the recovery. 2 weeks of sore and discomfort and the rest was just a wonderful vacation. If this one is only half as good of a recovery, I'll be pleased.

I was kind of amazed. I saw the Doc on Thursday. He said "you got 2 choices", "like the pain and live with it", "or get the bastard replaced" I told him "Lets get it swapped out ASAP" He calls in the scheduling nurse. She asks me if next Wednesday will work? I was kind of floored by how quickly they could get me in! Modern medicine never moves that fast!

On the last knee, I asked the doc if I could drink? He told me "no problem, just don't get sloppy drunk, where you fall and fuck up my work I did on you" His words exactly.

I had this sheet of exercises that I was prescribed to do 3 times per day. I got where I would treat myself to a beer after exercising. By the 2nd week I was doing the exercises 6 times per day. I truly believe it was key to rapid recovery.

I kind of feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they get up in the morning, that is the best they are gonna feel all day.

I do believe that a persons activity level is directly related to how well a person recovers from this surgery. If you are active, its not gonna be a big deal. If you are a laid back person, you might have more difficulty.

In short, I'll have plenty of time to cruise the site. Prolly betty not take anything I post too seriously later next week, that general anesthesia really messes with a person. I kinda like it.

Anyone else had their knee(s) swapped out?

    Later

    KO

I was wondering if you were suffering from key board separation. 2 days without a post must have had you going thru the DT's.

I hope you guys enjoyed the weekend.

Aw man, why'd you delete?!?!?!? I missed it!!!

I know you caught one that I deleted fast last week! Please keep my secret safe on that one, I know you saw it!! ;)

I was totally going through withdrawals. But it is getting better over time. That first trip we took when we were driving with noahpete's injectors over to central Oregon, I tried to skip TW for the whole weekend. That lasted a couple hours. Then that Boise trip recently, I tried again. I think I actually managed to stay away, mostly. Then camping this weekend? Did OK. But I still have these moments where I think, "That was cool, gotta share with TW when we go back!!!"

And it's pretty much the first thing I do when we get back home. Except peeing, that's first. TW is second. :D
