Ran out of tape. Damnit!! Got the windows mostly covered/taped but still a lot of detail taping to do. I basically have no clue what I am doing. Do I even need to tape it since I'm using a roller? I don't know. Oh well, it will be interesting to see how it turns out. :D

Actually, I used some of those stupid lawn & leaf paper bags from Home Depot. We bought those like 10 yrs ago and they just get moved around the shed and never used. Finally found a use for them (didn't have any newspaper around)!! Cut them up and taped them on - it was tons of fun, lemme tell ya

Feeling lazy. It's hot. Not sure if this taping project is getting finished today or not......might be mister time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

word of caution, masking tape turns hard and the glue sticks solid if you let it sit out in the sun a day or two so get back out there and "get er done" then get shit faced

get up early and wipe it down then start paintin, by lunch you'll be pulling the tape off felling all smug and superior :humble:

    Morning TW!

Just looked at those Cascadia RTTs and also those truck tents Keakar posted a link for yesterday. They are all nice. And naturally the nicer ones are also the more expensive ones!!

Question about the Cascadia RTTs - do you have to buy/install a roof rack in order for the tents to work? What do roof racks cost roughly? Anything else you have to buy separately from the tent?

Gotta run to the store 1st thing today and get more blue tape!! Finishing the topper today, one way or another :D

Set up badminton and horseshoes last night after mowing. Forgot how much fun those games are!! I love it when you find stuff that is fun and oh by the way you are getting exercise at the same time! Might set up croquet in front to play with neighbors. Seems like it'd go well with beers :D

How are you all doing today? What's new and exciting TW?

Just got my room. Sitting here catching up on what I missed since yesterday. Still a bit loopy and I seem to have an eye teaming issue. Nothing I haven't experienced before on regular occasion.

I'm on the tablet and hate typing on the thing. I ain't proof reading nothing.

Just hiut the pain pump, gonna nod off for a bit. I did walk on the new knee already.:broccoli::mudding:

Have you considered a used pop up camper? They tow great, if over ten years old, can be bought cheap and some even have air conditioning. The pooches would love you even more.

Holy shit am I stoned. I better not type any more.

    Will check in later.

    KO out

in all seriousness just get a "real" tent and a blow up mattress for it and its the best solution

this one is perfect for you and very economical http://www.walmart.com/ip/42206183?...fault&beacon_version=1.0.1&findingMethod=p13n

sleeping in the truck is always going to feel like your sleeping in a coffin no matter what, everyone I ever knew who went camping regularly gave up trying to sleep in the back of the truck (except a few hard headed cheap skate deer hunters lol) and were so happy to finally have a tent where they had room to stretch out

Now if we could find a camper that was affordable AND air conditioned, I would totally go for it.

This morning, we looked at those tents, rehashed all options, and are leaning back towards motels. Mostly because of the air conditioning factor. We know there are tons of things we want to do on every vacation (long hikes, events that dogs aren't allowed to, etc) that Dolly cannot do with us. So we gotta have a safe, cool place to let her stay in, sometimes for many hours at a time, like long hikes. And no matter what kind of awesome topper or tent set up we have, that won't fix the AC issue. Only a motel or getting seriously brilliant with rigging some kind of power source in the truck bed or towing a camper that has AC in it will fix that. And the brilliant thing probably ain't happenin :D So that leaves a cheap yet air conditioned camper thingy or cheapish motels.

Trying to figure this out for the long term, but also for our 9 day September trip. I'd hoped to do motels ~ half the time and camp ~ half the time to cut costs some. But we'd still have to fork out some cash to upgrade some of our camp gear even if we did this "money saving" route for that trip. Sure, we'd still have the gear to keep after the trip, but it doesn't last forever.

Hmmmm. Motels are the least amount of work. And yet we still get to fully enjoy the Taco by driving through fun, beautiful stuff.

Me likey a hot shower and soft bed. And mostly me likey not worrying about Dolly when I am out adventuring in the Taco :D She's just too darn cute of a squirt to give anything but the ultimate in comfort to :D Leaning heavily towards motels..........

I even looked at those stupid camp showers at the store just now. Anyone ever use those? They look kinda hokey to say the least........

Yep, that whole "skinny 1st gen" thing works both ways. Sometimes it's not a good thing.

This is a prime example of why.

@keakar , you want to help me school Koditten on the wide world of emoticons? Something to amuse him while he's laid up?

PS: @keakar , we could really have some fun with this. Think about it. He's doped up. We can teach him all sorts of interesting stuff about how to use the emoticons

    You with me???

@koditten , disregard the above :D Just keep pushing that pain drip buddy :D
